Soccer-Pong is for real. Just come and visit us on the Web, www.soccerpong.com. On this glorious day, October 20, 1999, we, the founding fathers invented this new game. Mission Statement This exciting new sport brings together people of all races and color for one reason only; to play SoccerPong. We intend to spread the word about SoccerPong, it is here to stay and will live on forever and a day. We intend for the players of this fine sport to have fun and drink beer. That's all. |
Rules Playing Ground This game is intended to be played on a traditional Ping-Pong table. Except the net is replaced by a solid material. Exceptional players are allowed to play their game on a wider and longer table (like the founding fathers). For future use of the table the height may be lowered in order to create quicker and faster paced game, intended to excite the audience ( and we are talking venue size audience). Equipment A size 3 or 4 ball, preferably a soccer ball. Must be weather proof for outside conditions. Footwear is optional. The Game Two players compete against each other. The goal of the game is to beat the other one, by scoring 21 (twenty-one) points. If the players are tied at 20 and beyond it is a must-win by-two-game. For singles, a player is allowed two touches. The ball can be touched with any part of the body except arms and hands. The penalty is a point given to the other player along with the serve. A goal can be scored at any time. A service has to be within the width of the field. For doubles, same rules apply except touches are still limited to 2 (two), per team. That means either one touch by each player or two by a single player of that particular team. Tournaments Entry fees are for singles, 5 American Dollars, Canadian Dollars not accepted. We do accept however Bangladeshian and Lichteinsteinian checks. The winner according to NSPA's rules and regulations will receive half of all admission fees. Entry fees for double are at Wal-Mart prices, 8 dollars per team, that means 4 a piece. We here at NSPA roll back the prices for doubles, just like Wal-Mart rolls their prices for their ?players?. If for some reason participants can not provide the entry in a dollar amount, they can enter with a high-quality case of premium Brah's ( Lager). Referee-ing The referee in this sport as in all sports has the final ruling, despite some people's beliefs. As in soccer there will be 3 referees and as in ping-pong they will be sitting in higher-than-field chair. They will be dressed in black and have red and yellow cards and flags for the assisting referees. Arguing with the referee will result in a verbal warning. A second violation will result in a yellow card. Third violation will result in a red card, dismissal. Soccer rules will apply in the same manner as they would in a regular soccer game, i.e handball. | |||||||||||||||||||

These are the portraits of the founders of this new sport. From left to right, we have first Asmundur Haraldsson, from Iceland. He has also played the game of SoccerTennis and SoccerVolleyball. He also attempted to play this new sport in Iceland but got deported because the Icelandic Government didn't approve to this new sport. It was thought to be to radical. So he wanted to explore new grounds Erie, PA is the home of SoccerPong. But SoccerPong has found its enemies even though the sport was only a day old. A wrestling coach at Gannon Universtiy thought is was too loud and too radical so he bannished it from the Recreational Center. What a mistake that was. In the middle we have Neal "who did it" Mechling. He has played the sport the longest along with Mr.Haraldsson and Mr.Andy Annunziata. He has also created a name for himself in the entertainment business, doing voice-overs for different shows and movies. Most famous is his work for the movie "Caddyshack" and the Dutch movie "The Flodder Family" On the right we have Angelo Palozzi. The only reason why his picture is up there is because he happened to be in the same room at the time of the first meeting.
