Welcome to this virtual trip to Mauritius! All the photos
on this site are taken from the films of my Christmas holidays in 1990-91,
91-92 et 92-93. A lot of things have changed since that time, but the most
important is still there: this island and its inhabitants.
This site's purpose is to help you discover paradise if you haven't
been there yet, to bring up memories for those who have seen it at
the same time, and to help you appreciate the transformations if you've traveled
there in the past few years.

Arriving at Mauritius: the island seen from the sky. Cap Malheureux and its red roof chapel, with an unassailable sight of the Coin de Mire and Round Island. Some pictures of Grand Gaube, and a temple near the city. From Port-Louis let's go to the Temple of Grand Baie. The savage and charming Poudre d'Or. The botanical garden at Pamplemousses: various species of plants and trees can be found there, as well as some animals. The city of Port-Louis: the 1st part of the visit is a first contact with the city. In the 2nd part you'll find other views inside the city. This time, you can visit the market! The flame trees from Albion Road in December. On the road to Rose-Hill for a visit of the market. Sail to the Ile aux Cerfs to the East. Views of the city of Curepipe. Tamarin, where the Rivière du Rempart spreads in the Ocean. Some views on the road to Chamarel and pictures of the colored earth. The Morne Brabant: seen from the Village du Morne and from Royal Road. The little market at Rivière des Anguilles, pleasant stop in the middle of the afternoon. Some local (and imported)birds. The cute, shameless and noisy Bulbuls. Birds songs ! Some samples of what you can here all around Mauritius. |
