Well, I guess the biggest project in my life is assisting my parents with remodeling and refurbishing
a new house. Bigger, and out in the country on 40 acres. Also surrounded on three sides by semi-public
land, so I can deer and elk hunt.

I am actively engaged in lots of outdoor activities. I like to hunt Mule deer and Rocky Mountain elk
with my bow. I shoot a Martin Cougar 2000 with Z cams at a 27" draw length. I killed my first deer with a bow
in August of 2000. I harvested a small antelope buck in August of 1998. I've got some success photos at the end of
this section. I love to shoot my bow, I attend several 3-D shoots scattered around Southern Oregon,
and Northern California. I also love to fish, mostly for rainbow trout in my home state of Oregon.
I know some will criticize me for my enjoyment of these sports. I think that hunting and fishing are
important aspects of managing wildlife. If game animal and predator levels are not kept within reasonable
levels the populations of both drop dramatically. The Heart Mountain Antelope Refuge in Lake County, OR is a
very good example of this. The number of coyotes on this refuge has increased dramatically in recent years,
with a population explosion. Coyotes find antelope fawns very easy prey. In a recent year on Heart Mountain
7 antelope fawns out of approximately 1000 survived predation. As enviormental groups like the Sierra club prohibit managing
the coyotes by launching a blizzard of lawsuits whenever refuge managers attempt to regulate coyote populations, I doubt that
fawn survival on this "refuge" will do anything but decrease in the future.
