When Elwin was very young his parents were taken from him by a Red Dragon, leaving him with little more than his wits and a small dagger. Alone and unsure of himself, he went in search of himself.
After surviving his first winter alone he happened into a camp of Wood Elf, who took Elwin into their lives as their own. Seeing that he was not human but half-elf, his new family started his training in the ways of the forest. In his 30th year Elwin felt a kinderance with the animals of the forest and started his learning of their ways. After leaving the village of the Wood Elves in his 65th year Elwin went into the woods to live and learn more from the creatures he so dearly loved.
After living with the animals and remembering the teachings of the Wood Elves, Elwin found himself able to mimic the shapes and forms of the animals he now lived with.
With the development of his fighting skills and his animal shapes Elwin was feeling a void in his life, he had no one to call his.
