Mech Engineer Pro by Howling Moon Software

mep.jpg (25640 bytes)

Mech Engineer is a freeware programs wich assist you in the creation of new Battletech Battle Mechs. It has been created by Howling Moon Software and his provided as a freeware. In my opinion it's an essential tool for any battletech gamer tired of scraping lots of paper in the process of creating a new battle mech. The software is concepted to work under the windows environment. It's easy of use, and it contains everything you need to create a brand new mech in about 10 minutes.

The Drawing Board 1.0.71 by Blackstone interactive

Another fast, easy and great battlemech creation freeware. Seems like all the good progs are for battletech ;-) anyway don't tink twice, you'll surely appreciate it!! Highly recommanded. Works under the windows system.

Battlemech Designer by Eric Ramey

bmd.jpg (52680 bytes)

Another Battletech Design program, and probably the best one!!, one bad side, does not support level 3 technology, but it's supposed to be include in v10. It has a lots of graphical informations, the print-outs are great and it's easy of use!!. Support quad mechs and mixed weapons technology. Even have a technical readout in Fasa style printing. Top choice, strongly recommanded!!!

Name Generator by Bruce A. Gulke (Digital Apprentice)

namegen.jpg (18016 bytes)

A really good name generator for fantasy and towns names. There is also some suplementary files for name like "middle earth", "taverns" and even some random "shakesperean" insults!!

Dice! by Armin D. Sykes

dice.jpg (19659 bytes)

A powerfull dice roller, may lack some graphics effects but overcompensate it by letting you roll any dice combination you wish!! Strongly recommanded.

Pick Pocket by Wraith Systems Laboratories

pocket.jpg (29080 bytes)

A nice pick pocket roller for your no-brain-steal-all thieves!! :-) no really it's a nice little utility when game mastering a theives campaign.

Installation tips:

The easiest way to install those programs is:

  1. Create a temporary folder (maybe something like: c:\temp)

  2. Extract the content of the archives (zip files) in this folder

  3. Run the installer (setup.exe, install.exe etc.) from this folder

  4. Delete the temporary folder and it's content

Please note that all softwares have been separated in multiple archives of 1mb or less, for easier downloads, so you will need to extract the content of all the related archives in the same temporary folder to start the installation (ex: mep1.zip, mep2.zip, mep3.zip)
