It begins with our hero, Simon Belmont, a descendant of the sacred Belmont family. A family sworn throughout the ages to end the curse of horror and suffering inflicted by the forces of evil led by Dracula himself. For once every thousand years, Dracula rises from the dead to reclaim his castle for the undead and terrorize the once peaceful countryside of Transylvania. Every male member of the Belmont family lives in constant training to prepare for the onslaught of evil, and to pass down the tradition of vampire hunting to he who is next in line to posses the Belmont family's Mystic Whip.
