Persephone, the beautiful virginal daughter of Demeter stopped to gaze pensively across the expanse of beauty that was spread out in front of her. All her mothers work.....Tall majestic trees cast mottled shadows across the panorama.lush green grass brushed her bare legs, interspersed with the bright, cheerful colours of flowerheads bobbing in the warm breeze. In her arms rested a basket laden with fruits, berries and flowers gathered from around her.
A sudden chill brushes her skin, and she feels apprehension. A feeling she has never had before.......under her feet she feels the ground stirring....and hears a slight rumble that seems to be growing louder and louder...the ground starting to shake more and more violently untill she is thrown to the ground....
Suddenly the ground splits apart and with a burst of flame as a chariot screams from the pit..the horses snorting. Thanitos.
