Weapons of Proficiency: Cylindria is a martial artist, who is proficient in stiletto and two-weapon style. Her other skills can be defined in various ways, depending on the resources available.

Player's Handbook: Unless she is wrestling, only the punch descriptions apply for Cylindria, in effect she "punches" with her feet, but all damage and %KO figures are tripled. Cylindria kicks about 75% of the time in combat, preferring to use her long, slim legs as weapons. When using her fists, damage and %KO figures are only doubled.

PLAYER'S OPTION: COMBAT & TACTICS: Cylindria is proficient in all four martial arts fighting styles (p. 95) and is a master in Style B (kicks).

The Complete Ninja's Handbook: Cylindria?s martial art style is unique and does not conform to any of the traditional styles. It has the following special maneuvers (she knows all of the Movement maneuvers): Block 1,2; Strike 1; Kick 1,2,3; Movement 1,2,3,4,5; Mental 1,2,4.

Magical Items: Two gold dimensional blade stilettos, an amulet of regeneration (as ring), winged boots (18, C), a cube of force (32), a Quaal's feather token (acts as a lightning storm spell), a mithral ring of invisibility, a ring of spell storing (containing the fear & heal self spells), a necklace of night seeing, a flute of puppies, a stone tunic, a loquacious lyre, and silver anklets of walking.

Combat/Tactics: Being a martial artist, Cylindria is very difficult to defeat in melee combat. She uses spells and magical items first, then enters melee if necessary. If psionics are used in the campaign, Cylindria has 136 PSPs and the psionic powers of danger sense, mindlink, and the attacks/defenses: EW, PB/IF, MB. She has had access to these psionic wild talents since her mind potential was fully realized upon her becoming a wizard.

Allies/Companions: Her son, Jordon "Piper" Silverblade; her grandfather, Stick; her consort, King Valkor Silvertree and his son, Prince Kalorithian; her nephew, Tannus Blade and his family; Kylan Bloodbringer; the Golden Enclave; the Harpers.

Foes/Enemies: All evil organizations, especially the Cult of the Dragon.

Appearance: Cylindria is a tall (5' 11") lean woman of heavenly beauty. She has long, silvery-blonde hair, and pale blue eyes flecked with silver. She wears tight, yet unrestrictive clothing and has a preference to leather pants and high cut boots, which accentuate her long, eye-catching legs.

Personality: Quite and careful, Cylindria has been known to destroy dragons when angered. She is very conservative of her magic and is unafraid of physical combat. She is very loving of her friends and family; although being over 100 years old leaves most of them feeling that she is distant and old fashion.

Locales Frequented: The High Forest, Evermeet, the Elven Court, or anywhere in the Realms or planes of existence where magical knowledge can be found.

Motivations/Goals: Cylindria's only motivation is to watch her family grow and remain unharmed. Her hunger for magical lore is natural and plays into all her actions; however, she will not sacrifice her friends or family for the Art.

Campaign Uses: A motherly leader of the Blade family, she is a seeker of magics and is also useable as a tutor of the Art or a person to give quests for others to accomplish, as she is a fountain of knowledge; her semi-retirement lends her to give the torch of adventure to the younger generations, for it is they that wish to prove themselves, or seek glory and honor for goodness's sake.

Unique Abilities:

  • Arcane Lore: Through her devoted study of the past as a Lore master, Cylindria has come across numerous texts on the arcane lore of magic. Reading all of these, she has gained a fundamental understanding of many strange magical items not normally usable by the bard class. Thus, she can attempt to use any magical item. A Wisdom check is rolled in such cases; if successful, Cylindria successfully uses the magical item. This does not mean that she fully understands the operation of the item, only that her attempt to use it in this particular way is successful. Lore masters pore over scrolls and spell books whenever they get the chance. Thus, she memorizes and casts spells as if she were one level higher as a bard.
  • Art Conjunctions: From the use of the permanency spell, Cylindria has the continuous abilities of fly, protection from evil, and protection from normal missiles.
  • Etymology: Cylindria can make her read languages attempt twice if the language in question is an ancient one. She can also use read languages to decipher runes, glyphs, pictograms, ideograms, or any other form of ancient visual communication. Even though a Lore master cannot be proficient in a newly encountered ancient language, if Cylindria makes her ancient languages proficiency check, she understands the basics of the ancient language. Elementary use of the language is gained, allowing for written or even spoken communication at one-tenth the normal rate.
