As the voices and muscle of the Realms, the avatars of the Seldarine smite The People's enemies in all their varied forms. However, during the current times while the Realms are in turmoil over the War of the Bones Hordes, only one godly avatar was allowed to intervene from the demigods and the Seldarine. Thus it is being appointed that there is a need for officially sanctioned leaders and heroes that others will follow to help guard the Tel'Quessir from any further attacks, as Ao is limiting the godly interaction and physical presence of the Forgotten Realms Deities, as they cause too much damage.

As such, each deity that is a member of the Seldarine has been given the choice of choosing his or her champion, who is to become a Silver Crown. This is their gained title, with which comes a blessing (magical ability or protection granted by their sponsoring deity) that corresponds to the individual.

It is unknown why, but no elven True Blade has been granted this title thus far; it is assumed to be because of their already godly ties and duty to defend the elven nations. Thus if a Silver Crown were to assume the awesome responsibility of becoming a True Blade, they would have to resign themselves from the ranks of the Silver Crowns. And aside from royalty and the main rulers of Evermeet and other elven nations being overlooked for the title, it is also assumed that these people have too much in the way of politics to get involved to varying degrees with the defense of cities and places far removed from them. Thus, only the most active members of this elite nobility can assume a place as a Silver Crown.
