Magical Items: The Evanero tel'kiira (a deepest brown topaz, it can become invisible at will, and grants constant mind blank protection on it's wearer), the diadem of griffons' blessings, boots and cloak of elven kind, a robe of blending, the four finger-wands: a duskwood belluth of negation (36), a beetle palm belluth of metal and mineral detection (67), a phandar belluth of frost (54), and an ever-frozen ice filled glassteel belluth of fire extinguishing (74), a mithral and adamantite bracelet of rings (looking like a small elven hand encircling her upper arm) containing: a darksteel ring of free action, a mithral ring of the ram (32), an arandur ring of protection +6 (+1 to saves), an electrum ring of twilight that also bears a specially set witherite gem, and a dlarun ring of regeneration, carved to be a leaping griffon.

Combat/Tactics: Veskelxo is a warrior through and through, the fact that she is an ancient and power High Magi is of no consequence to this fact. She walks near the front lines, and is not afraid to charge in and help where she is needed. She is the leader of the Evanero Bladesinger troops, the Glowing Griffons as they are known throughout the Realms.

As the leader of such an elite warrior caste, and a wizard to end it all, you would think that their respect for her is less than their fellows, but this is also a false concept about this fragile elf. Her troops will do anything she says, even lay their lives down so that the Griffons can proceed to victory.

In combat she typically picks apart any magical defenses of the opposition, while awakening the inner griffons of her kin if they are in need of more numbers. Otherwise she will transform into a griffon of the purest bloodline herself and rip apart their foes in mortal combat.

Allies/Companions: House Evanero and all high magi of the nations that comprise Myth Drannor.

Foes/Enemies: All foes of elvenkind and treasure seekers after her family's Art.

Appearance: A veteran of many various battles and great discoveries, Veskelxo is a sunrise elf that has seen the rise and fall of 891 summers of sun.

Personality: Veskelxo disdains humans, claiming that their polluting ways destroyed the sanctity of the wood, and therefore leading to the elves downfall in the eyes of the Art. She is bold as a paladin and upfront as the biggest, smelliest tavern bully. Although outside of combat she is the most supple and dainty beauty the Evaneros' have to offer. From the prejudices of the elves of the Elven Court, she suffers a -2 reaction penalty when dealing with humans.

Experience Points: 18,868,659.

Locales Frequented: The Elven Court, Cormanthyr.

History: Veskelxo has born into a family of warriors, yet was too weak and more interested in her ties to the Weave to become a warrior. Her insights into the Weave brought her families attention to bear fully on her innate sense of the Art and her genius dealing in combat magics and tactics.

Thus, when her family came to her for guidance and teaching, she reluctantly agreed to serve, but on her terms only. She then hand picked members of her family that were the most promising and took them to the Bladesingers. Forcing them to train her little griffons with her indomitable will, she would personally supervise their training in the Art.

As of that time the Evanero family was born into the legend of the best singers and practitioners of the Bladesong. With her dedication, Veskelxo even took a few years here and there to learn and become fully proficient in Bladesong. Then over the course of the years as her kin and her transformed their family into a literal small nation of Bladesingers, she continued to practice and perfect her songs of the blade.

It wasn't until her and her little griffons as she called them, those who were the first Bladesingers she had trained, dedicated themselves wholly to the blade arts that they created yet another form, an extension form of Bladesong they could call their own. With these improved and more damaging Bladesong techniques, they rose above all others and claimed utter dominance of the Songs of the Blade. In their time they were the stuff of legend and their every family member, young and old at least knew the basics of the Bladesong.

Every major battle in the long Fall of Myth Drannor there can be seen a few, if not more, of these elven heroes changing the tides of the war, or sacrificing themselves for their homeland and fellow Myth Drannorians. As the Army of Darkness was about to secure the inner city of Myth Drannor, Veskelxo used every item she could get her hands on for her last spell, the dreaded araemyth. Which she used to good measure to destroy all in their vicinity, even sacrificing her contingencies to fuel the spell. And even as she perished in the mighty spells and destruction the many other gold elven families escaped; yet even though they still set the blame from their loss of the nation and power to the famed "Glowing Griffons" failures, which was made up of the Evanero Family in nearly it's entire, they would never under any circumstance speak ill of their fabled leader, Veskelxo Del Evanero, Thee Glowing Griffon.

Sad it is that only Elminster and a chosen few who have lived from those days of yore remember their heroism. All others have forsaken them in their pride, for when their best wasn't enough what good was their race in the end. No it must have been their weakness that brought the fall to fruition. In the End all fell but one, and the others retired from their blade arts and assumed a forgotten version of their name to hide their disgrace, they became known as House Evanara.

Motivations/Goals: To lead her kin into war and create the greatest fighting unit the Realms have every known.

Campaign Uses: A High Mage and leader of the Bladesinger assault on the Army of Darkness, Veskelxo is a war leader and protector of her family.

Unique Abilities/Items:

  • Contingencies: Invisible mail protects Veskelxo at all times, as well as a stoneskin spell. The mail grants her an AC 3 and it absorbs 30 points of damage before the armor is destroyed. Plus she is covered in stoneskin as soon as her first stoneskin is dispelled or otherwise taken off of her.
  • Cormanthan Mantle: Veskelxo's elven mantle is centered on a perfect crystal that used to be a mithral symbol that was transmuted into it's current substance; It is in the shape of the Evanero griffon insignia, which is hung low into the middle of her bosom with very fine, indestructible adamantine cord. The powers inherent of her mantle were as follows:

First Level: protection from evil/magic missile.

    Second Level: protection from paralysis/earthburst.

Third Level: protection from normal missiles/slumber.

Fourth Level: lightning shield (chill version)/Sakkratars's triple strike.

    Seventh Level: spell turning/reverse gravity.

Eighth Level: dispel enchantment/Symkalr's friendly fireball.

    Ninth Level: Griffon's glowing rage/glasshields.

As a paragon griffon, Veskelxo was a ferocious sight to behold. She was the largest griffon that anyone had encountered, and stood seven feet tall at the shoulder, and was thirteen and a half feet long. Her obsidian skin sprouted glowing golden feathers and golden claws, which were complimented by her ash gray hair. Veskelxo's eyes were black pools in her otherwise golden face, with dancing and laughing pupils of gold. With her tremendous body structure, she will have hit points from 191 to 319, as all rolls of 1, 2, and 3 are considered 4s.

Beings with less than 4 levels or 4+1 hit dice or less flee in panic at the awesome sight of her when she is attacking or charging. Panicked creatures flee for 2d4 turns, as if affected by the 4th-level wizard spell fear. More powerful characters are affected only if they are within a 50-foot radius of her, and then only if she employs her fear power. Opponents who do not automatically flee are allowed a saving throw vs. spell with a -4 penalty to avoid the effect.
