Note: I know that priests of war are supposed to be of neutral alignment, but the nation from where Akeem comes is very religious (almost fanatical), and so, his alignment is supposed to reflect his inflexibility on his religious beliefs, he is NOT actually a priest of a deity of war, but a priest of a warlike deity, war is one of the deity's atribbutes, but not the only one (this "atribbutes" rule is found on the priest's handbook).

Description

Akeem is a muscular, tough looking man in his late twenties (he's 28 years old), he stands 1.79 mt tall, and while that may not may make him look menacing, his cold, analitical gaze is enough to scare off drunks and other bullies (he likes to hang around where he is not wanted). He has dark skin and brown eyes, his rough features and beard often covered by a piece of cloth.

He wears a silver splint mail (hence his AC) decorated with several symbols of his faith, and a simple brown tunic and hood above it, making sure that the huge scimitar he carries sheated on his waist is visible to anyone. He also carries a collar around his neck with a pair of crossed scitimars with a sun in the middle made of the finest silver (his holy symbol, of course).

History

Akeem El Bashar comes from a far away land (A warlike, religiously fanatic far east-like culture will do ), where he was born the third child of a prominent noble family. Ever since his childhood, following the old tradition, he was consacrated to the holy duties of the faith.

He was educated in the arts of war; strategy, combat, interrogation, healing the wounded, etc. Following a rigid and often cruel system designed mostly to create combatants and fanatic soldiers.

He did not have much contact with his family, except for his cousin Aziz, with whom he made good friends since their childhood; since Aziz was a rather fragile boy, Akeem always stood up for him and defended him from his brothers and friends (they always tried to bully him). As time passed, Akeem was sent to follow on his clerical studies, and Aziz stayed at the patriarch's house to learn the magic arts.

Aziz was nearly trapped in the family's household, kept there by the vigilant eyes of his instructors, and barely ever went outside the state's stone walls. It was Akeem who showed him the outside world, for he sometimes would go at night and help his cousin escape from the household to take him to the city, on those long nights, they would chat about anything and walk around the wondrous city while Akeem told him about it.

Several years later, a war with a kingdom overseas broke out, and Akeem was sent to the front lines to help, promising his "younger brother" (Aziz) that he would return with stories and gifts from the land beyond the sea.

The war was long and hard, lasting several years, and once it was over, a battle hardened Akeem returned home, only to find the family's patriarch enraged at him. Seven months ago, his cousin Aziz had fled the house using his magical powers, leaving only a note behind, explaining that he was tired of his "prison" and that he had gone overseas to try his luck and experience the wonders his books and his cousin Akeem had told him about. Making Akeem responsible for his cousin's outbreak (Aziz was believed to hold great magic potential), the patriarch disinherited him and branded him an outcast.

Akeem didn't really cared about any of that, he could only think of the fragile boy on a hostile land (being of such a warlike culture, his kinsmen were not exactly loved overseas). He considered himself directly responsible for this, and so he gathered what little savings he had and boarded a ship towards the west, he had a very good idea where his cousin had gone, and he would probably join an adventuring party in search of excitement. He would find it, no matter what.

Roleplaying Akeem

Akeem, due to his mission, wants to join an adveturing party in hopes of finding his lost cousin in his travels, and so it should not be much of a problem to get him into the party.

He is rigid and inflexible in his beliefs, preaching about the greatness of his god whenever he has a chance, and if there is another cleric in the group, he will seize any chance to make him look bad or to argue matters of faith with him.

His behavior is cold and metodic, moving as if he had planned his every move. He doesn't drink alcohol and will not touch a woman other than to heal her (IF and only if she was wounded in battle). He doesn't talk much and will never start a conversation with anyone.

In combat, though prudent, he will fight fiercely, sometimes refusing to stand behind the warriors like the other casters, enjoying combat to the fullest and fighting to the end if necessary.

He is not half as cold as he pretends to be, and he values friendship greatly, if any PC saves his life or gets through him and befriends him, Akeem will fight to the death to protect him.
