Sages in Raokrá have divided history into several time periods, depending on several tendencies constant through the years that constitute the time period, these periods of time are called "Eras". Each era is limited in its beginning and and by certain important historical events. The eras of Raokrá are as follows:
The primitive Era
Like the eras of ancient history, the primitive era is very vague, no precise events or dates can be given, since the events and places were taken from ancient ascan scriptures.
The primitive era begins with the creation of man and ends with the battle against the dust men and Rao.
The Era of the ascan empire
This era is the the rise and fall of the ascan empire, beginning with Negthal seizing control of the tribes of Northern Gatzrhé, and ends with the Nimbac wars and the coming of Rao.
The golden ascan Era
It lasts from the defeat of Rao's avatar to the destruction of the ascan civilization. It simbolizes the years in which the ascans achieved incredible progress and knowledge.
The Era of the new beginning
After the fall of the ascans, Negthal begins his bid for power as nations begin to form in far away places, this was the era of the new beginning. This Era ended when Thyrana was formally formed.
The Era of Ascension
It was a time of uncertainty and turmoil, with new nations popping all over the world after bloody wars for control. It begins after Thyrana constitutes itself as a nation and ends when Hans Ruzsell the first is crowned emperor of Thyrana.
The imperial Era
This Era marks the beginning of Thyrana's bid for world conquest. During this era, nearly a half of the entire world was conquered by the Thyranian army.
The Era of the sword
The brief time period between the year of the dead and the great cataclysm is known as the era of the sword. During this era, an all out war and hatred was unleashed at wizards and magic in all of its forms (including elves due to their magical nature), blaming magic for the disaster of the year of the dead.
It was during this era that many kings, religions and governors created organizations of overzealous thugs, dedicated to destroying "dark magic", which over the years evolved into hatred of all things remotely magical.
The Era of the new ascension
Beginning after the great cataclysm and currently in progress, this era has seen the fall of the thyranian empire and great advances in magic and science. Free from thyranian grasp, new military and political power have risen, and commerce has gained great importance.
