The Manchester Anomalous Phenomena Investigation Team
 
MAPIT (The Manchester Anomalous Phenomena Investigation Team) was first formed in July 1992. It purpose was to collect, collate, research, document and investigate claims of Anomalous Phenomena.



Anomalies such as :-

1. UFO Encounters.
2. Paranormal Experiences.
3. Supernatural Incidents.
4. ESP and Innate Abilities.
5. The Strange and Profound.

MAPIT�s aims are to document substantial important cases of phenomena so to encourage the scientific establishments to conduct open-minded yet objective experiments and analysis. The United Kingdom�s Scientific Community need to be aware of such profound reports and to engage in research and thorough documentation so to bring a better understanding of such phenomena and so to provide more teachings in the country.

How to become a �Member� : Simply E-Mail your request and postal address and we will gladly send you an Information Pack and Application Form. Once you receive it, complete and return to MAPIT Head Office. You will be notified within 7 days and given an �Invitation Date�. By becoming a member, you will be able to attend our monthly meetings in Manchester Town Center and obtain information regarding News and Investigations.

How to become an �Investigator� : Once you are a member you can become a qualified and registered investigator by sitting the �BITC Course�. The course can be taken in two ways.

1. Postal Training Course �PTC� : This is done by modules. You will be given Module 1 to read through and complete the answers at the back. Once it has been given back you will receive the second module. After completing all 20 modules you will be given an exam. This exam consists of 100 general questions. You will be required to get 75% of them correct to pass. Once you have passed you will be given a BITC Certificate, Identification Badge and Investigators Information Pack. You then will be allowed to investigate under the organisations name and will be notified of any investigations.

2. Tutored Lessons Course �TLC� : This like the �PTC� consists of 20 modules split over 20 weeks, (60 Hours). This course is tutored at Manor High School, Sale, Cheshire; from 7.00 pm - 10.00 pm. The BITC course costs just �20.00 Members or �25.00 Non-Members. Anyone wishing to sit the course who is not a member can simply obtain details by E-Mailing their request, making sure to give a full postal address.

All details will be treated with Confidentiality.

How to become a �Corespondent� : For those who will not be able to attend our monthly MAPIT
meetings, there not a problem. You can become a corespondent by simply E-Mailing your request. Any corespondents will be notified of any reported phenomena in their area and can assist regarding certain investigations. All corespondents will receive a quarterly news letter. There is no charge for this service.

How to become a �Consultant� : If you have been interested in certain phenomena for some time and think you could assist MAPIT, then we will gladly list you as a consultant. Members and Investigators will be able to contact you regarding assistance with information. Group affiliations can also be obtained by request.
MAPIT is due to start its own Magazine and we will welcome any articles or magazine trades. Again, ..... E-Mail your request.

How to contact an investigator :

First you will need to look down our list of qualified investigators to see if one is in your area. Then E-Mail a message indicating what investigator you require. Some can be contacted individually by E-Mail. If you do not see an investigator in your area, then just simply E-Mail a message asking for a �GENERAL INVESTIGATOR�.

The Scientific Establishment of Parapsychology.
The Scientific Establishment of Parapsychology is a sister organisation of MAPIT, which has been
specifically constructed to study Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP).

SEP conducts preliminary ESP tests and analysis. Any further experiments are carried out by
parapsychological departments, such as Edinburgh University. SEP only deals with scientific based research and its work deals with :-
