Introducing My Impala
|
I found my beautiful car in my hometown. I saw it on a Dealer's Used Car Lot. Its color was white, with a white top, and a red interior. I took it for a test drive, and knew this car had to be mine. The year was 1965. The car was a 1963 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Sport Coupe. What a gorgeous car, I thought, as we signed the papers, and drove it home. This car was mine!

I enjoyed driving my Impala for the next eighteen years. In 1988 we decided to begin a complete "Stock" restoration. The restoration took two long years to complete, although, as any classic car owner would tell you, restoration is really never complete. During the restoration, we set a goal of August, 1990 as our completion date. Our plan was to drive to Reno, Nevada to participate in "Hot August Nights." We met that goal, and many more. It has been a "Great Ride!"

Shows and Events

During the years of restoration, we had no intention of showing our Impala, but we did. We have been showing it since 1990. It has become a family hobby for us. I will be sharing with you some of our favorite events and experiences we have had. I will include some facts and history about a 1963 Impala, and some pointers about showing a classic car at a Concours'd Elegance. I hope you will enjoy my efforts!
