This is the unofficial web site of Blue Line buses, dedicated to the bus company created by Richard Frank Henry Wilson at Armthorpe in England in 1922, which continued in operation until taken into public ownership as part of the South Yorkshire Transport undertaking in 1979.
Guy Motors of Wolverhampton supplied the first double-decker to enter the Blue Line fleet. Guys became to be the mainstay of the fleet from about 1943 until they were no longer available. After that, the Daimler marque was favoured. A batch of four arrived in 1971 and JKY 263P (above) was one of a pair to be delivered in 1975. A further four joined the fleet in 1977 and these were in fact the last Blue Line double deckers. A pair of Dennis Dominators on order at the time of the take-over were delivered to South YorkshireTransport.
