Pictures are now available for the Damage-Coyotes game from Friday night. Check them out in the Schedule page!
In 1963, the NFL played games just two days after the assasination of President JFK. Pete Rozelle always regretted that decision. So why are we playing just two days after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center? Damage takes on Yonkers at 8 PM.
The 11 PM West Coast start against Rolling Rock has been cancelled because Rolling Rock has quit the league.
This game was full of paradoxes. First, Dark Horse didn't have a goaltender to start the game, so rather than forfeit, they played without a netminder, but with six skaters, which usually is harder for the other team to handle at first. But when Jim Paccione scored into the empty net, they started complaining! As they continued to taunt and cheer, they made themselves out to be the least sportsmanlike team in the league. Whatever. They might have won this round, but can they win the next? GO DAMAGE!
I missed this game, and when I saw the score on Macroplay I thought the site was wrong. Apparently this team really didn't provide much competition. Great job guys!
Damage, we still owe about $400 towards the league fees, so bring it in and pay up before the next game. We're playing Ernst and Young, so Dave will be revved up more than usual.
The power of six, as we played with just five skaters for the entire game and nearly defeated AllTrue.com. It was a heroic effort by all, but in the end, the fatigue gave AllTrue a fluky goal with just over seven minutes to go and we just couldn't recover. Though we had plenty of chances, the game was scoreless heading into the second half. AllTrue got a goal a few minutes into the second half, but we kept persevering, and Sal hammered in a rebound, after a great rush by Joey to the net from the point, to tie the score. I don't think AllTrue managed a shot on goal between their first goal and Sal's goal. George was a monster in goal, and as a team we neutralized their attack pretty well by staying spread out, marking up our men, and communicating well. They tried to change their tactics, pushing their defensemen in further, but to no avail. The game was an even contest, and with the full compliment of players we would have crushed AllTrue. POWER, PRIDE, and INTENSITY were definitely showcased in this game, and before the second half, one of their players told me that he was very impressed with the way we were in the game. To get a compliment like that during the game is incredibe
