Welcome to the Northeastern NY-LFA Chapter
Mission: to educate and support those affected by lupus and find a cure.
The Northeastern NY Chapter is asking you to help us lick lupus.
The Northeastern New York Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. was formed in 1975 to unite and provide support and group strength for people who have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having lupus erythematosus. We are a nonprofit health organization whose purpose is to provide current up-to-date information and assistance to all who may have lupus, are affected by lupus or who are interested in our programs and activities. We strive to educate the public about lupus and gain support for research into the cause(s), treatment and cure for lupus.
As a nonprofit health organization we rely on membership dues and donations to help fund our programs and services. We do not operate under government grants or corporation support, although we wish we could. Currently member dues and donations are our only real form of support and we are a fully volunteer chapter of the LFA.
Our chapter alone takes in 15 counties within Upstate NY We serve Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Essex, Fulton, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington counties. If you have lupus yourself, are a family member or spouse of a lupus patient or a friend or employer to a lupus patient, your membership in the NENY-LFA, could help you better understand what lupus is, how to cope with it and the person suffering from lupus.
The NENY-LFA is a 501-3(c) chapter and all donations are tax-deductible and remain here in the Northeast.
With a membership into our chapter you will receive:
* a membership into the National Organization
* 4 National Newsletters a year
* 4 Chapter Newsletters a year
* Discount prices on lupus information books
* Mailings on Chapter Educational Meetings

Saratoga (Saratoga Hospital ---SEEKING FACILITATOR
Schenectady (St. Clares Hospital)-SEEKING FACILITATOR
Latham (Chapter office)--LOOKING for those interested in a
Teen group or Newly diagnosed patient group.
We have been seeking FACILITATORS for Columbia, Montgomery and the Plattsburgh area as well as those listed above. If you could donate 2 hours a month or even every other month to support other individuals affected by lupus in your area, please give the chapter office a call. If you would like to see chapter details for what a facilitator would be involved in click here.
These groups are open to all lupus patients, their family members, friends, coworkers and anyone interested in learning about lupus. The groups allow for communication and understanding of what lupus is, what it can do and how it effects all those surrounded by it. These groups offer people a chance to say what is on their mind and to know that they truly are not alone in their personal battle with lupus.
We ask you to remember that the NENY-LFA depends on membership dues and donations to support the programs, research, seminars and operation of the chapter office. Your membership is very important to us and we would appreciate your support. Applications can be mailed to you by calling the chapter office and leaving your name, address and phone number.
