Reasons for the Existence of this Web Page
Have you ever wanted to play with the old out-of-print
cards, but you couldn't because there was so few of them that they were
too expensive to afford. Well now, if you have a good enough printer, you
can to the second best thing. Print out the pictures of the card that i
have on this site and paste the cutout onto a common magic card. Your friends
may know that its not the real card, but they may not mind you playing
with it if you explain that you would rather not spend over a hundred dollars
for a single card just to play with it in a card game. Just
don't try to sell or trade the fake card! You can also just use the fake
cards even if you own the original card so the original card can be kept
mint and unplayed. This is especially useful for those expensive cards
that you want to keep in the perfect condition. To Print these cards on
your printer, set the card size to 175 pixels width, 245 pixels height
in Adobe Photoshop.
What's New
(5/09/00) If you want see 50
new cards made with version 3.0, you can download
them but can only view them with Dante's Card Maker v3.0 cause i'm too
lazy to put a link to each card. It just takes to damn long. Download
cards.zip and move or extract all the files inside of the zip to this
path C:/Program Files/Dante's Card Maker/ then
you can view, open, and edit any of these 50 cards while in the Card Maker.
If what i just said doesn't make sense, go ask the 10 year old kid down
the street who knows computers to help you out.
Dante's Card Maker version 3.0
is done and Now avaliable for download.
There is many changes in this version including all new card templates
that look like those from the Magic the Gathering Encyclopedia and all
new mana symbols that look like those from Magic the Gathering Encyclopedia
. Other changes include: being able to put an "X" and "0" in the casting
cost, moving mana symbols by draging them, and realalistic card borders
will now be on the cards. Look at some example cards made from the final
version here. One more thing that I'm still
looking for is a "jpg encoder" for Visual Basic so that the program will
be able to save the cards as jpg. If anyone knows where i can get it, please
email me.
Resources
I just found out that there is
a program out there that has every Magic the Gathering Card Picture from
every set ever made, Magic the Gathering Interactive Encyclopedia. If
you want to see some example cards, click here.
I found a place on the net where you can buy it, at amazon.com.
Its $40 now. It is also a tool for playing magic on the internet and deck
building. If you want it to get it click here |
