Well, that's me. I was born in Garden Grove, California. When I was
2yrs. old I moved to Houston, Texas where I grew up. I moved around to
several different parts of Houston over the 22yrs. that I lived there. My
first job was as a residential electrician. It was hard work in the
South-Texas weather so I only stayed at that job for 4yrs, just long
enough to get my journeyman's license so that I could secure a job as an
electrician anywhere in the country. After that I had a brief job as a boll weevil
trapper. FYI, a boll weevil is a small little bug that eats cotton. Just
about every state in the nation has successfully cured their boll weevil
problem, except Texas! My job was to ride around in a government-owned
Dodge 4x4 and count bugs and try not to get shot by the farmers who wish
we weren't there on there property. Eventually, the program was shut down
by a court order. Oh well, on to the next job.
Hmm, something new,
something adventurous, something challenging. Why not a truck driver?
That's what I did. I went to see a recruiter and I signed on with Stevens
Transport Inc. . They sent me to school and I started driving for them in
less than a month. It was hard going out with a trainer for a month, my
trainer was kind of a jerk, but he was a good person. I eventually went
solo and had a lot of fun. I've been to Quebec, Ontario, almost all 48 states,
and I've spent a good bit of time near the Mexican border in Laredo. I loved
driving a truck but, as silly as it might sound, I was really missing my
computer (OK, my friends too). So I only stayed with the trucks for a couple
years. I tried to find a local driving job in Houston but it never did work out.
I wish there were some way that I could drive trucks and do computer stuff.
I had a hard time finding work after driving and I spent
some time delivering with Domino's. I had fun at domino's and I made some good
friends. In search of a better life I eventually ended up with a new friend that
asked me to help out in his fence company. Sounds like a lot of hard work, huh?
Well, it was but I had fun and I got along real well with my boss. He taught me
a lot of great things.
I eventually decided to move to Arizona to be closer to my
family. After sitting around on my duff for a while I got into gear and got back
into school. I'm working to get a Batchelor Degree in Internet Information
Systems, which is why I'm now boring you with the details of my life. FYI,
computers will rule the future! Get to school and learn everything you can. I
wish someone had told me that a long time ago.
Well, thanks for stopping by. I'm going to look into adding a guest book so I
can get some feedback from those who visit but, until then, just enjoy. Check
out the rest of my site and have a good life.
Virtually yours,
Mike
