WHAT IS THIS SITE ALL ABOUT?

I believe you will find this site much more informative, and useful than many others of its kind. Please email me if you have any comments. I am still learning Java and HTML, and use this site as my learning tool. I update it regularly, adding new features, and hopefully improving it along the way.

This page is designed to help you find and choose services that will pay you for viewing advertisments, searching, completing surveys, receiving email ads and other activities while browsing online. This can help you pay your expenses of your ISP, second telephone line, or modem rental if you are a cable/DSL subscriber like me, etc. I am a member of all these services, and use them from time to time while surfing. I cannot use all these programs all the time, there are just too many. I do cycle through them and try to keep updated on what's happening with each, updating my decriptions and reviews of each.

If you agree my opinions, and decide to join one or more of these programs, please use my referral codes and links on these pages so I may receive the credit for referring you. I have put a lot of time into this site, trying out the programs, and telling you what I find. I hope it will help you make an informative decision. As I learn more about these programs, or discover new ones, I will update this page. You can always email me (see below).

WHAT ARE THESE PROGRAMS I AM TALKING ABOUT?

Banner-advertising is the internet's version of television commercials. The main difference being that the internet is parallel, meaning you surf and view commercials at the same time. Of course, you can just ignore the commercials like you do on television. A second, and possibly more significant difference is the recent trend to pay consumers for viewing or receiving ads on the internet. The web is an extremely competitive marketing arena where everyone is competing for your attention. You may as well choose who you will listen to, and get some compensation for your effort; cash or merchandise.

I have dozens of pay-ad services listed. Each is summarized, and if the service is functional, I have made a review and comments. If someone tells you you will become rich promoting other-people's businesses, such as referral programs, they are crazy. While these programs do provide me a reward for referring you to join, they will not make my dreams come true. And you certainly cannot rely on others for your income - those you refer may quit or the company itself may close or cease the rewards programs. The contracts/agreements you will agree to usually state changes to the agreement are without warning at the sole dicression of the company. All this said, these programs do help me make somem money and pay for my internet education and experience, which I share with the world in sites such as this.

Membership is free in every program. Some may offer premium memberships at a cost (like true MLM programs). You should think about that very carefuly. The free membership is what makes this industry thrive, paying to be a free member (even with perks) seems to defeat the purpose.

Introductory & Important Notes

Pay to surf programs emerged in 1999 as the next phenomenon in internet money making. However, they also allow just about anyone with a computer and an internet connection to make money. If nothing else, they are capable of covering the cost of your internet fees. If you are interested, view the list of all paid-to-surf programs as of May 2000.

All of these programs operate under the same principle; your participation in their program allows them to sell banner advertisement space, which makes them money. Programs such as Hotmail and Fortune City provide you a FREE service. They can afford to do this because they are paid by companies that advertise on the pages you view.

As competition for your surfing time increased, organizations needed to find creative ways to attract your patronage. And paid-to-surf/paid-to-email programs were born. Paying individuals 1 to 50 cents an hour to view those lucrative banner-ads might be a good business, and a good way to attract you to their organization.  Contests to win a jackpot, instead of cash per hour, have become the new standard in this industry after many organizations went out of business in the summer of 2000.

Paid-to-surf programs eliminate the entire website level of this, you don't have to use any service and see the banners on a page. Instead, these organizations provide you with a downloadable program that shows you ads directly on the screen, thus you watch their ads no matter what internet site you visit.

Paid-to-email programs are similar to free-email programs, except on one characteristic: They pay you for use of their email. You can be credited for sending, receiving or replying to emails, under various different plans. Each of these programs are a little different. They are also paid-to-read-email programs where they simply forward advertisement emails to your current email account. They do not provide an email service. The net result is about the same.

You should always take precautions when joining any program on the internet. The first thing to remember is to never give out too much personal information, especially social security, employment and sensitive personal information. No organization should ask you for your SSN/SIN, mother's maiden name, credit card numbers etc. when offering you a free membership.

When joining such memberships, I suggest the following preparations:
