About Me

Greetings from Florida

My name is Karl Wurth. I am a I/T Spcl A/D Appl Integrator for IBM Global Services. (That's just a fancy title for Programmer/Analyst). I have been a mainframe programmer for over 15 years and love to dabble in Visual Basic 5 and am trying to learn Java. I've always wanted to learn Windows programming and had the opportunity to take the Microsoft Mastering Visual Basic 5 course. It was really great and I learned a lot. I think VB 5 is really great and extremely easy to use. I've been wanting to get into the Windows programming area for years but have always fell asleep when trying to learn C++. All of the special terms and names are enough to put anyone to sleep! This is a picture of me and the real boss of the family.

We Live in the country near small town in Northern Florida along with our three kids, 5 cats and 3 hamsters. Here's the whole gang.

LogonMenu

Logon Menu is a program that I wrote with my kids in mind. Do you have one computer in your house and never seem to get any time on it because the kids are always surfing the net or playing their games? Well then this program is for you. LogonMenu allows you to set up your kids as USERS of your computer and limit their daily time. It really works!! My kids absolutely hate it!! Click on the above link to get this program for yourself. It's FREE to you from me. Enjoy. Here's some more pictures of the kids.

For you programmers:

For you Visual Basic Programmers out there, here is A program that will Register and Un-Register OCX components and DLL's. It's written in VB5 and minimizes to your tray. Requires windows 95.

Picture Viewer

This is a picture viewer I wrote in Visual Basic 5. It allows you to change disks and directories and lists the picture files found in the directory that is active. By clicking on the picture you will see a thumbnail version of the picture. You can view the full picture by clicking on the thumbnail. The program will also enable you to have a slide show for a directory. Simply chose the directory with the pictures, click on the first picture then press the slide show button. You will see a slide button to control how fast the pictures change for the slide show. To stop the slideshow, just click on the full image. This is free. If you have any comments, please drop me a line in email. Click here to download PicViewer. Note, this is in zip format. Unzip the file to an empty directory and switch to that directory and run setup. Enjoy.
