What You Need To Know:

I am an elementary school teacher. My certification includes: Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 1-8),Elementary English (Grades 1-8) & Learning Resources Endorsement--Librarian (Grades PK-12). I am currently teaching computer skills to grades K-4. This is my second year in this venture. I think I have learned as much or more than the students. Prior to this assignment, I was an elementary librarian in Lancaster, Texas at West Main Elementary for grades K-5. Before that, I taught a self-contained 4th grade class at West Main Elementary. I began my teaching career in Pilot Point, Texas teaching Language Arts at Gee Junior High School to grades 6-8 and continued in that path during the 1992-93 school year in Runge, Texas. Even though this can be quite a challenge at times, I enjoy working with the kids and seeing them learn. I really do enjoy working with the younger kids. It is so rewarding to see them become successful.

My interests:

As you can tell from above, I like working with kids. I also love music, especially country. Music is very important to me. I am one of those people that REALLY gets into the music and the words. I like to cook, read mystery novels, travel and site-see. I love to go anywhere that has a casino. I like slot machines! (Wish they liked me better.) Since taking the teaching job that I have now, I have learned a great deal about computers and am learning more everyday. I am amazed at what they can do; it really fascinates me. Every once in awhile, when I go home for a visit, I enjoy getting out on the boat with my parents and fishing.
