There isn't anything like a well made meal that says... I'm in the mood for romance!
Japanese ARAME SALAD.
This is a seaweed dish, very healthy and romantic. It goes well with Japanese noodles in a broth or noodle stir-fry.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of Arame
1 Tbs fresh ginger, grated
2 Tbs dark sesamee seed oil
2 Tbs of Tamari
2 Tbs sesamee seeds
1/2 cup red bell peppers sliced
2 Cloves garlic
2 carrots diced
1/4 cup ricewine vinegar
4 scallions minced
1/2 cup daikon or red radish, shredded.
Soak the arame in in hot water for 15 minutes. Marinate garlic and ginger in vinegar in a glass or salad dressing container. Drain the arame and put into saucepan with carrots, bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and cook only until arame and carrots are just tender. Drain immediately, put in bowl and toss with other veggies. Add Tamari, oil, and sesamee seeds to the vinegar mixture and blend. Pour over salad and let chill for about 30 minutes before seving. You can shred cucumbers also if you like, if it is too vinegary a Tbs of sugar added to the dressing is pretty tasty also. Oh YEA! Don't forget the chilled sake or sweet white wine and the candles!!
