Southeast Division- Women's The call took place 11/9/00. Participating on the call were Emory University, Rob Swingle and Dorothy Wadsworth; Auburn University, Cissa Carvalho; University of Central Florida, Raul Pou; University of Florida, Kerri Parmelee; Virginia Tech University Tiffany Keplinger; University of Georgia, Katharine Czarnecki; University of North Carolina, Tracy Walsh; and Daniel Sharadin, Commissioner. A brief roll call was taken to determine the level of commitment. The results indicated that Emory, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia were all going to play this fall. University of Central Florida, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina were undecided, with North Carolina leaning against participating due to the eligibility rules. Teams discussed the competitive format and decided by mutual consent to have two tournaments (regular season and championship). Potential new members that may join the division included Tennessee, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, and Florida State, with Vanderbilt indicating no interest. The commissioner noted the new rule for 2001 regarding red cards. The new rule requires an additional game suspension. He also emphasized the need for following the dress code and Code of Conduct. Site rotation and league dates and sites were discussed and determined to be: February
Eligibility After some discussion, Rob Swingle made a motion to limit eligibility to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Seconded by Kerri Parmelee. Motion carried. The commissioner noted that the teams hosting must complete the pool reservation form located on the web site under General Information/Competitive Information. The commissioner explained the No-contest and forfeit policy and reminded all teams that they must complete a Participation Contract before the start of the season. The commissioner explained the process for evaluating officials and the need for teams to complete an Evaluation Form, which can be found on the web site under Officiating. The commissioner explained that hotels would either be booked through an outside organization or through the office. However, they will be completed prior to early January. The commissioner reminded teams of their need to turn in the media guide information before January. This includes rosters with cap numbers, a paragraph about your team, and any updated school profile information. A suggestion was made to place the forms needed on the web site and the commissioner stated he would do so. The commissioner indicated that any team hosting may choose to sell items on consignment from the league. All hosts should also review the Host Requirements section found on the web site. |
