Excellent knowledge of HTML:
Full understanding of all aspects of the W3C HTML 4 specification including cross-browser compatibility, browser-specific extensions and degradability. Includes both development and administration/maintenance.
Experience with DHTML:
Strong JavaScript and CSS skills, including client-side includes, layer animation, image swaps, filters and all aspects of GUI development. Main experience has been development of a pilot intranet at RCVS (see below).
Typographic and design skills:
Graphic design using PhotoShop and Paint Shop Pro, including image correction for commercial printing and both traditional and web-based typography, emphasising accessibility and optimisation as well as aesthetic appeal.
Ability to organise content effectively, and to write for the web:
Experience includes academic writing and music journalism, both printed (as Reviews Editor of Resonance magazine) and electronic (as Editor of Musings).
Knowledge of commercial aspects of the web:
Currently developing a business plan for a partnership to provide web presence and access to a sector which is currently not well-represented online.
Complete familiarity with DOS, Windows 3.x and Windows 95. Some NT workstation and server experience. [MORE]
