Some gliding
mates
The guys in the
photo are, from left to right:- Jerry who was my best mate the two in the
middle are Doc (on top) and Heine Erichson, a really nice guy. That's me
on the right. Other playmates at the time were Helmut Schulte,
Brusow, Paul Renz, Phil Jones and many whose names I can't
remember...I'm sorry about that.

Gliding was
very good and free at Jagel. Hardly any of us in the R.A.F. had any idea
at all about gliding so the activities were run by the Aero-Club Schleswig
using R.A.F. gliders we pinched from the Luftwaffe, all in all we got along
very well and made many friends.
The glider sheds at Schleswig, Ingenious mini
hangers in the war, housing one fighter aircraft and crew, are they still there
I wonder? Historically very valuable.

So how about it? Anybody recognise themselves or know anyone
in the photos? Why not send me an e-mail? You guys
in the Marineflieger Gruppe at Jagel what's happening there now?
Eine Nacht im Moulin Rouge, St. Pauli - no idea who the girls
were, the guy in the middle was an American, Taff Conway on his right and me and
another R.A.F. chap whose name I forget.

Sorting
through some old photos recently I came across this one.....are you in
it? It's a few years back now, 40 plus would you believe! So
we are all a bit wrinkly now aint we? Me? No I'm not there cos
I took the photo. I used to look like this
remember? Name of Jim.
Don't
remember? Ah well, it was a along time ago. Anyway if you are
reading this and I don't owe you any money why not email me. I would
especially like to hear from Jerry, Taff, Charlie and Hargs and of
course any of the locals who used to glide with us. Here's a few more pictures to jog memories.
