| Welcome To FaruKolhuFushi republic of the Maldives..

The island of Faru is located in the North male atoll close to Hulhule ( the airport )
island and only a few miles away from the Capital of the maldives : Male. It is owned by Club Med and boasts a superb village and vegetation. It
is also home for the people from Eurodivers .

As you approach the Maldives you can see the
different attols pass underneath you. On the outer ring of the atolls you can see the
often uninhabited islands |
| And there it is the one and only Faru ! Surrounded by its own
lagoon and coral barrier reef.

| during daytime a lot of activity is concentrated either around the pool or
around the Surf Shack . that is for the people not diving ... Water - vollybal ,
''water-obics'' , crazy signs , snorkeling initiation , Paf-Paf demonstrations etc all
take place around or in the pool. |

The Surf shack has canoes , surfboards ( windsurfing ) and sails ,
Hobie-cat catamarans for sailing and paddle-boats available. No reservation or fee. Just
pick one up and off you go. And if you don't know how to do it , they will explain and
teach you. |
| And after the the hard work on the Surfboard it's off to the Beach bar ..
Once a week they make a bonfire and have hot sangria and live music. A beachvolley
contest is held that day as well |

| Of course you can also relax on the beach and get a tan or ... |

| have a look around from your own private patio or balcony. All rooms
feature direct view of the ocean and beach access.
All rooms have airconditioning , double beds and a shower. Sorry no hot water ... but
.. it is warm enough as it is !. Only in the morning it feels chilly but then there is
always the ocean which has a nice 30 deg.C or 87 Deg F. temperature ! Year round !!. |

Besides this you can do numerous other things like deep-sea fishing ( half
a day or full day. ) The catch is served either at lunch or at dinner !. Talk a bout fresh
food !. There plenty of excursions to nearby islands ether on boat or by hydroplane. |

This is also any divers wet dream ( Literally ! ). The scuba base has 4
boats at their disposal that can each accomodate about 25 divers. They leave twice a day
for a single tank dive. One dive a day is included in the package. The other has to be
paid for. |
Diving is conducted under guidance of Eurodivers, a swiss organisation that numerous
other diving bases in the maldives and abroad. Don't know how to dive ? well it's time to
learn ! A three day course takes you all the way trough certification ( PADI ). and off
you go. You are sure to find an instructor that will be glad to accomodate you in your
language.
There is also a photographer present to make an underwater movie of your explorations ,
and a photolab to develop Slide film onsite. sorry to the people not depicted above ... no
picture available .. there are many more instructors.
The underwater world of the Maldives is one of the most spectacular in the world.
nearly any sea-creature existing can be found here from tiny nudibraches to the massive
whale shark. and let's not forget number one on the list ! mr Manta himself
The Manta is a giant ray that can attain about 7 meters of width ( about 21 feet ).
this gentle giant can be approached without danger. The animal is very curious and will
come and 'check out' the divers approaching it. They are typically found on the so called
'cleaning stations' where they have their parasites removed by tiny little electric-blue
fish. good spots to see them ( depending on season ) are Furana-thila , Back furana ,
Sunlight thila or Lankan
Besides the spectacular manta plenty of Napoleon fish can be found. The colorful
Lionfish is as dangerous as it is beautiful. You can look but don't touch. Actually you
shouldn't touch anything underwater. There are plenty of Lionfish , scorpionfisch and
Moray eels averywhere. So watch you hands ! You don't want to get stung or bitten.
Now don't be scared . These animals will not attack you .
Triggerfish and 'poisson-pyjama' or sweetlips can be found anywhere on the reef.
There is also plenty of Angelfish around. And if you are really quick you might be able
to take a picture of the 'Angelfish' on the right
