In this place, you will find many tools and utilities to help you protect your computer from internet hazards and maintain absolute control on your own system. I finally got past the under-contruction state, but that doesn't mean I won't add new programs when I find them, so keep checking in.

Most of the software here is freeware, otherwise, it's shareware. All software should run under Windows 95 and/or Windows 98. With the descriptions of the utilities, I will include info on the download size, license (freeware/shareware) and whether it runs in the taskbar (TB), the system tray (ST) or hidden (H). Since I cannot test them on windows NT, I will not include that as a platform, although some programs might well run on it. If you have tried it, please let me know.

To achieve somewhat of a secure windows system, you'll at least need to download and use all security-, winsock- and DUN-patches from Microsoft's website (windowsupdate.microsoft.com). Some programs may not work on your system if you haven't.

Please note that this site is about controlling your OWN system, not someone else's. If that's what you're after, this is not the place for you... you'd better go back to

or take this link to search for 'hacking' on AltaVista,
which should supply you with something like 421 thousand links.

Those of you who think this IS a useful site can choose their destination using the links provided at the left. Enjoy! If there's anything specific that you're looking for but cannot find, let me know. I might be able to help. Although Fortunecity offers me 100 Megs of web space, I could not begin to put all my software here.

DISCLAIMER
It seems standard by now that any website that offers some kind of service or material has a disclaimer. Since I have no intention of breaking traditions, here's mine:
I can not and I will not, as even most of the programmers of these utilities can not and will not, take any responsibility for any damage or problem resulting from the use of any of the software provided here. Although it is unlikely, since I have tested and used succesfully each and every tool offered on this website, I cannot exclude the possibility of a program malfunctioning, nor can I guarantee that these programs will run on any computer ever built. Some of the programs here would be best used by experienced computer-users only. Such advisory will appear clearly in the description of the software as presented by me on the page where the download link is located.

Always at your service,

Sargeth the Mad Mage
