Cybertown

Cybertown City Plaza
Citizens need to log in.

Cool places to visit. We can't provide the links, just "how to get there."

The Suburbs. Use the Jump Gate on the right side of the screen. Cybertown citizens submit 3d worlds you can explore. This is cool, you can spend hours looking around at the creative genius of Cybertown residents.

The Black Market. OK, getting there is a little tough. Use the Jump Gate to get to Cyberhood. Go to 3d, then right click your mouse for viewpoints. You can sell your "items" here and usually they have unique stuff for sale. But watch out for the price tag. Sometimes its very easy to get taken, just like on the real black market.

Free e-mail. You know you can get free e-mail at Cybertown, right? Go to the post office (via the Jump Gate) and sign up. Nice address....... [email protected]

The Aliens Pride Web Site - hey, submit your "aliensesque' artwork.

Dark Star Neighbors - want to link your web page here? Let me know your URL.........[email protected]

VRML
Getting started. This is the jumping off place for Cybertown citizens.

Ctown Tips
Front Door Image. If you don't have a picture for your front door, how about this? While in 3D explore the number keys. You can change camera angles and "view" your avatar from any aspect, including close up. Now, do a screen shot. Save your screen shot and open it in a graphics program, crop your "picture" appropriately and voila! Front door picture..... Oh remember, that picture has got to be in .gif or .jpeg format, so save it accordingly.

Change the way your sky looks. There's a globe type thing outside your house where you can move the band either left or right and change the way the sky looks. Its the "sky adjuster." I can't tell you how or where it is in all the houses, but in my house, I can make the sky dark and even have crickets chirping. Cool.

How do you tell when your friends are in town? By instant messaging. When you click on the "Citizens OnLine" link (right below City Time)a pop-up box appears. Eventually. (it takes longer the more citizens on-line). Anyways, scroll all the way to the bottom and then click on the "configure" option. You can fill in your friends Cytown nickname and then if they log on the same time as you, you'll be notified.

Voice. You must be in 3D. Go to "Options," choose "Voice" and download the software.
