A Humble Presentation of Insanity
Fan fictions and filks and other stuff!
Could you stop perpetuating the stereotype for a minute!

--Mr. Drisdel to Marti on Barney Miller

I finally updated! Sorry I took so long; the cyberbeings weren't quarreling too much but my schedule was a bit pressed. At any rate, I put up a new shortie (link now fixed). I hope you enjoy it and that my updates can start getting a little more frequent. Editing is once again the sticking point. BTW, does anyone know why Fortunecity doesn't like background colors? (Regarding the upcoming index page for DW, if I'm lucky.) Feel free to email! Thanks!
Keep checking back, and if you're new here, enjoy...or rant and rave against me...whatever. Just to let you know, there's a good link at the bottom for you if you really hate my stuff. And if you don't hate my stuff, better yet! This page is here for your entertainment, after all.

Science Department Fan Fiction

The first thing to come up is a set of stories based on a roleplaying game I've been playing with a friend for years. The Star Trek based game takes place onboard a starship (captained by my friend) and, being the Chief Science Officer, I sometimes write stories featuring the staff of the science department. These are said stories. The first two were written awhile ago, and anything after that more recently. (So if you don't like the first one, try the third, and if you don't see an improvement in my writing ability go ahead to the bottom of the page and email me as to what I'm doing wrong.) Without further ado, the stories themselves. I hope you enjoy.

Accidents Happen
I know you're supposed to put a little blurb about the plot here, but frankly, the title explains most of it. Ensign Pettigrew mixes a couple of chemicals he shouldn't have and gets into trouble.

Pet Problems
The first, but I assure you not last, appearance of John Pettigrew's cat in that brief period of time when most of the staff didn't even realize he had one.

Botanical Logic
An extremely short piece highlighting Stovok and his purely unemotional interest in another character. Really.

A Line of Text
Pettigrew reacts to the results on a casualty list. Another short one.

Filks

Lyrics rewritten to assist science fiction fans in their eternal quest to take over the world! Ha-ha-ha!

Ex-Borg Girl A Voyager filk to the tune of the popular Billy Joel song...

A Stormtrooper Commando's Song
One of those charming leaders of the stormtroopers from Star Wars tells us what his job is like to the tune of Heartaches by the Numbers. We all feel for him, I'm sure.

I Do Survive
Captain Kirk-or any applicable Trek character, and I'll admit there are many-tells a fumbled villain (hero?) a few things to the tune of I Will Survive.

And a Little Ranting...

Everything I Need to Know About Life, I Learned From IB
Part explanation why I don't get around to updating as often as I should and part griping. Probably best appreciated by fellow IBers but it should be at least mildly amusing to the general public as well.

    Ya'll Come Back Now, Ya'Hear?

    DAFT Hatchlings
Here is one link for lots of neat Darkwing Duck stuff and Disney Afternoon stuff in general. (Nobody's ever too old for this!) Be sure to visit the archive. I particularly recommend 'The Webfoot Weavings', that Halloween trilogy by the same author,'PreQuills', and the Quiverwing Quack stuff on the Negapage.

    Star Traks: Nexus
That's right, traks, not trek. On the show, you get to see Starfleet's finest, most talented and morally upright crews in action. But what about the klutzes, the kiss-ups, the goofballs and neurotics? Their adventures are relentlessly chronicled by the many series of Star Traks...My personal favorites are Waystation and The Vexed Generation, but that's just me and I've barely read most of the others. These sites are generally very funny, but one further warning: they are NOT g-rated.

    Godawful Fan Fiction
They write bad fanfic, and we fall back. They write Mary Sues, and we fall back. Well, no more! The line must be drawn here!
A comprehensive list of what not to do when writing that showcases authors who do it, now including any fandom that occurs to them. Attacks plotholes, mischaractarization, and evil grammar errors with fed-up enthusiasm. They also take nominations, so if you really don't like my fan fiction go ahead and tell them. Join in the fight against bad fanfic!

    The Hunger Site
Corporate sponsors donate food to hungry people whenever you click on the button because when you click on the button, you see their advertisements. One click on the button is allowed per day. So if you haven't already, go click on the button now. And click on it again tommorrow. And the next day. And the day after that...It feels really good. Do it.

By the way, the red door which is thataway (-->) is not a useless apparently repaired, as of this update, pic. (It looks like a red door again! Isn't it so goshdarn purty?) If you click on it, you can still go out on the 'street' and visit my neighbors in Fortune City. Or, if you have less of a sense of imagination, you can click on one of the images of townhomes (am I erroneous in assuming that's still what they look like?) and, on your screen, see another page with an address close to this one.

Would honestly love feedback! Anything the slightest bit constructive is appreciated greatly. Even a whine about how little I update is okay, especially if you have a suggestion as to how I could squeeze in one more often. Thank you! Get me here . Don't even bother with my Fortune City address because I don't use it. I'm not even entirely sure what it is.

And What Do You Think of All This?
I now think this site is big enough for a guestbook, or at least promises to be, so here it is. (I know I'm more likely to scribble my opinion in a guestbook than email the author, so I figured I'd go provide one.) Have fun.

Is the counter working today? It seems to drift in and out as badly as I do in certain classes...Feel free to use it as a punching bag, kind visitor, if it does not display a number. Many thanks from the management.
