The Judges on a world in a parallel dimension to our own, realised some time ago that all crime is committed by the living, so they decreed that life itself was a crime! Judge Death, one of these Dark Judges, was a leading figure in eliminating life and transforming his home into the eerie and terrible Deadworld. With his work finished there, he l his attention to other dimensions and, with the use of a Dimension Jump Globe, he soon appeared in Mega-City One! Death met his match In Judge Dredd and, with his body destroyed, his spirit form possessed Judge Anderson. This gave Dredd the chance to entrap the evil creature (and the unfortunate Anderson) to solid Boing The other Dark Judges later freed Death, but they were all eventually chased back to Deadwodd and exorcised by Judge Anderson. Again, Judge Death's ethereal form survived and he tricked Anderson into resurrecting him. She managed to defeat him by sending the Dark Judges on a one way trip into limbo. Unfortunately, Death and his colleagues returned to Mega-City One via the Sisters of Death during the Necropolis saga and though his brothers was defeated, Death escaped was at large until captured by Anderson in 'Judgement on Gotham'. While he was at large he told his life story 'The boyhood of a superfiend' to Brian Skuter ( a penname of John Wagner ) whilst staying at the Mrs Gunderson's, from this point death turned comic as he was the funny side life/death. Drawing parallels between Dredd's work and his own. And he has escaped for adventures but re-captured by the end of each.
