... A role playing game is a game in which ye, the player, take on a totally new personality, the character. The game is controlled by one person, the GM (Game Master) or DM (Dungeon Master), and the rest are the players. The GM will comprise a story for the characters to follow and the players will act as the brains of the characters. Some people go as far into the game as to actually act it out, but that is not needed if not desired. All ye need is a little imagination. Role playing games are like any other games except that they take place on a larger level of imagination, there is no game board, no game pieces, just a piece of paper that outlines yer characters abilities and yer imagination. Of course for the more serious gamers ye can have maps drawn and use playing pieces to represent where in the world ye are.
