Band Profile... Blues Gone South was formed February 1996, before the Band was formed each of us had played in other bands and had been involved in music for nearly half of our lives--which is a pretty long time considering our ages range from 37 to 49. Musical Focus: Reinterpret "blues standards" & "undiscovered blues-based music", with classic ROCK hits from the 60's & 70's hence "Gone South". We play Swing's, Shuffle's & Straight-eighth's-- we're a "Rockin' Tour of Blues Music and Beyond" Musical Influences: Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, B.B. King, Freddy King, Albert King, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Allman Bros., Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tommy Castro Band, Roomful of Blues, Tom Waits, ZZ Top,...
