hazy

The air ran cold one hazy morn and the winter frost came all to unexpected
It was only mid-September
And the ice crept through the woods and valleys
leaving a crystal-like glow
It only seemed like yesterday that Ben had knocked on her door.
But yesterday morning he didn't and she hadn't
waited by the stair well for his call

Ontario

Night sweeps her painted brush
across the sun splashed sky
Lamps glisten warning that another
night is nigh.
The moon wakes and rises to her
normal pending task and sways her
arm o'er heaven's sky
to dot it's canvas stretch.

Alone

She turns away from the room frightened and desolate
And no one notices
Stepping outside she tastes the wind upon her lips
But it does not soothe her pain
Footprints down the drive and street mark the path she's taken
Only looking back but once in silent desperation
Pleading with her trembling eyes
Her fate within her hands
Never turning back again,
( they had been mistaken
She walks along the snowy streets
slowly toward the river
Where she sits in peace...)
