Proud to be a member of

SPEBSQSA

If you have never experienced the Barbershop sound, I strongly urge you to at least take a look.

Barbershopping is very important part of my life. As is all music, I studied to be a music teacher at the Boston Conservatory of music. I am currently involved in the local community band and sing Tenor with my Barbershop chorus. I am the Membership Vice President, Assistant Director and the newly Elected Millennium President for the North Country Chordsmen.

My wife says I carry my heart on my back and I have taken my love of barbershop to an extreme. Scroll down then click Norman Rockwell's Quartet below to access
Barbershop to the Extreme

I sing with my quartet Live Wire and any pick up Quartet I can.

I am a member of SPEBSQSA The Society for the Preservation Encouragement of BarberShop Quartet Singing in America

There are also women's choruses and quartets.
Sweet Adeline's International and Harmony Inc. are the societies for the women.

I have tried very hard to perfect my Baritone but after several years of trying, it wasn't getting any easier. Miracles of miracles I found my place in the chorus.

I moved to a different part. So no more baritone blues for me. I have been hitting the high C's and things could not be better.

For my Birthday 2 years ago Kier sent me to the 1998 SPEBSQSA International Convention in Atlanta, GA.

Kier and I had a blast attending the Roaring 20's Barbershop Festival in Killarney Ireland last March. It was too cool for words. We heard and met quartets from around the world. The North Country Chordsmen performed for the opening of the festival and several times around Killarney. If you ever plan to attend the Festival don't miss the Great Gatsby Ball. It was well worth the extra money and we had the best time, it was the high point of the festival for us.

It was a another wonderful Bolton Landing Barbershop Quartet Festival...This was our 3rd year in a row (A Special thanks to Kier's Mom for watching our Rugrats once again so that Kier and her Dad could attend the Saturday and Sunday Night Shows) What a great weekend ...Barbershoppers from around the country converge on a small town in New York State, take it over and then Barbershop until they drop. We loved all the wonderful quartets and Le DixieBand was fantastic. Luigi got to show off his extreme Barbershop all over the place, The Worlds Greatest Master of Ceremonies: Mike Maino even brought him up on stage and officially unveiled it to the world. We had such a great time visiting with Saturday Evening Post, (We love you guys....a special Hi to the SEP wives and significant others....it was so nice to meet and visit with you too) We simply adored side splitting barbershop comedy of Expanded Sound & Cornerstone, they were the nicest people (we so enjoyed meeting you and can't wait to see you again...we loved the new Expanded Sound CD and The Cornerstone Video). The afterglows were incredible, great friends old and new, lots of tag singing, good food but the only draw back is we were up way to late both nights. Steve was able to bring our oldest to the Sat afternoon show and she had the best time. The high point of the festival for her was when she meet Four Star Collection.

She also said that it was really cool to met the "big guy" from Cornerstone.

We want to thank Andy, Bruce and all the Festival Staff for another great weekend. See you next year....and the year after that.....and the year after that.....and the year after that.

Hi Kier here !

This is a WARNING for all spouses...
...Barbershopping can be extremely addicting.

Steve has it bad ....... very bad.

We have not taken a family vacation that is not barbershop related. Our children never sing Barney Songs any more they sing "Down Our Way" and the "Java Jive". I think our stereo would blow-up if something besides bbshop music played on it. I have become a barbershop widow .....Monday Night Board Meetings, Chorus rehearsal on Tues. with the NCC, the occasional Thursday with the Concord Coachmen , Fridays and Wednesdays for Quartet rehearsals and not to mention all the performances and events. But Steve is so happy when he is Barbershopping .

Steve has carried his love a barbershop to an extreme.

I have to admit I love barbershopping too (not as much Steve though). I only wish that there would be more events that would be family friendly.
