More Than You Want to Know about Dave & Jean Baker

Vacation at South Padre

Hello and welcome to our home page. Hopefully, this web site will allow our family and our many friends (especially those in Ohio and Florida) to stay abreast of our activities out here in the Great Plains.

Music is a big part of our lives. Jean sings and plays the piano, and Dave likes to think of himself as a trombonist; although, most of his work is at the piano.  You can click here to check out Dave’s CDs and review some of his past performances, or you can learn more about his formative years in music by following this link.

Thanks to Sprint for letting Dave retire early in order to pursue his music with more intensity! Highlights of his telecom career can be found on this page.

One of Dave’s many hobbies is astronomy. You'll find photos of the moon and Jupiter on the science and technology page.  And while you’re at it, don’t miss the photos of Dave and his buddy Mike at the 2002 Great Plains Star Party.

Dave is also a ham radio operator and worked for some time in commercial radio broadcasting. Read all about it on the Radio Daze page.

Dave loves the sea, sailing, and has worked with underwater archaeologists in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Sicily. So what am we doing in Kansas??!!! Some mementos of his love affair with the sea are on our sea page.

You've heard of Harold in Italy? Well, how about David in Sicily?

The internet is positively amazing. Recently Dave has been using it to link up with some of his old pals from Kenton, Ohio -- most of whom he hadn't seen in over 30 years!

We documented the progression of spring in our yard a couple of years ago. To view the chronology of blooms and blossoms, visit this page.

What an exciting life we're leading! Be sure to visit a day in the life. before you leave....
