Nottingham's Best Live Act |
The time has come for Nottingham. No more is Manchester the capital of the music scene. Ok, so you've got your Oasis, but how long will they last? No, something new is needed; something original; something with a bit of energy. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you HORIZON. Horizon consists of five talented lads from Nottingham, the place where everything's happening. They write their own music, bringing in each individuals own unique style to every single song; but they can still hammer out the old classics. They are going to be BIG, so can you afford to miss them at this early stage, 'cause in a few years you'll be watching them on the tele and listening to them on your stereo, asking yourself why you didn't see them when you had the chance.
The Hockley Bar is but one of the recent venues played by the band. Other gigs include; Nottingham's Old Vic, The Running Horse, The Cavendish, The Maze and The Trent Bridge Inn (The TBI) aswell as Willowbrook Festival, a local celebration of music, which resulted in Horizon headlining the gig. The lads are also the first band organised to play at The Running Horse's new Indie Night every Thursday, starting on July 9th. The dates look like this: July 9th - Horizon 16th - Luga 23rd - Horizon 30th - Wave August 6th - Eman Parc 13th - Wave 1.50 admission, bands on around 9:00pm | Horizon: Live at the Hockley Bar
Demo CD: Front and Back Cover |
This is the latest of the groups recordings. It features 3 songs; Breakdown (Stephenson), A Cry For Help (Freeman/Armstrong), and Come On (Frost). Copies will be availiable at gigs. The CD was recorded and mixed at Bandwagon Studios, Mansfield. The producer praised the lads on both there excellent studio discipline and their material, which is ten times better than some of the shite in the charts now-a-days. Horizon are: Martin Teall - Vocals Ralph Frost - Lead Guitar Gav Stephenson - Rhythm Guitar Pat Armstrong - Bass/Vocals Chris Freeman - Drums This web site is pretty makeshift. I will be updating it pretty regularly with gig dates. There is also another Horizon web site to visit (see links).
