Welcome to

"Loyd's Midi Piano Page"

(Established on January 1, 2000)

This page was established to provide a means for my friends and family (at least the computer- literate ones!) to hear my piano music. All songs posted here are in midi format and are "live-recorded" by me on a Yamaha Clavinova model CLP-820 (with minimal "maintenance" using "Music time Deluxe")

My favorite all-time piano composer/performer is JIM BRICKMAN. I have attended four of his concerts and I am truly inspired by his work. I have purchased all of his CDs and sheet music. The following songs are my tribute to him.

My brief musical history:

I took piano lessons under the watchful eye of Ms. DuBois from age six until twelve. Thanks to her and "John Thompson" I learned to read music for piano. (This was the mid 50's)

(Fast forward to the mid 90's)

While on a business trip to Nashville, Tn. I was staying at Lowes Vanderbuild Hotel. I met a piano player there whose name is Bill Ferrari. He was playing in the bar and very well, I must add, a song I liked so I asked him the name of it and he said its "Angel Eyes". I got home, bought the sheet music and learned to play the song.

Several months later I heard talk that some guy named Jim Brickman was doing a concert in my area and I thought "where have I heard that name"? The next time I played "Angel Eyes" I realized that's where I had seen the name, "He wrote the song!" Long story but I got four tickets to the concert and, needless to say he was great.

I find Jim Brickman's music to be both simple and complex to play. I plan to continue to try to play his music as long as he is writing it.

Well, thanks for visiting my website. Hope you enjoyed it. Come back again as I plan to add more songs as I learn or re-learn them.
