Tool- forget it, still in a lawsuit with their record company and they're not even thinking about a new album yet.
Rage Against the Machine - I have been just informed by a close friend of new Rage info people!! That's right you bloodthirsty Rage fan freaks, Rage is in the studio as we speak recording a new album. Album title, release dates and tour info is still unknown but you don't even have to ask...the moment I find out I'll post it right here baby!!! The June issue of Guitar World has an article with Tom Morello. Appearently, Morello is covering the Zepplin song "Kashmir" on the Godzilla soundtrack. Guess who he teamed up with...Puff Daddy...I am sorry but CHEST ROCKWELL is not a fan of Puffy. Jimmy Page is doing the solo guitar part for the song. Also, Rage will have its OWN song on the Godzilla soundtrack. Here is Tom Morello's words on the song; "almost atechno vibe, but, again, completely within the context of a punk rock band. It has a deep hip-hop groove, and a big Godzilla-would-be-proud riff. There's also a guitar break where I did my best to impersonate some of the most horrible monsters to come out of the Japanese movies of the Fifties and Sixties."
Orange 9mm - Released an EP called Ultrman vs. Godzilla on March 10 98. I haven't heard it but you might want to check it out if you are into Orange 9mm yeah!!
Megadeth - No way, they're still doing their Criptic Writings tour. Which I went to by the way, and I caught one of Dave Ellefson's bass picks baby!! Yeah!
Primus - Sorry, no new album for them yet either. They recently hung out with Korn and watched them record some of their new album. Wierd, I couldn't picture Primus hanging with Korn. For Pete's sake!!
Coal Chamber - Won't get off the road!! They have been going crazy with tours but Roadrunner records says once they are done they'll start a new album maybe out late this year. I saw them twice by the way and if you get the chance check em out.
Sepultura - In the process of recording their new album and are currently in Japan to record with Japanese percussion band KODO. It will be interesting to hear that album.
Limp Bizkit - Singer Fred Durst is making a guest appearance on the upcoming Korn album. Even more interesting, Bizkit is covering the song Jane's Says by Jane's Addiction of course. This song may appear on a future album or possible a single or EP.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Just sat down to write material for a new album but I wouldn't expect any release dates from them for another year. Correct me if I'm wrong. By the way, Jane's Addiction isn't writing a new album in case you were wondering. They released that great live EP with some funk-ass rare tracks.
You heard it first from CHEST ROCKWELL

Faith No More broke up!! I know, it sucks SO bad. Their was no animosities towards anyone in the band, they just figured it was time to end it all. BUT!! Mike Patton has started another project called Fantomas. Mike Patton on vocals, Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle on bass, Buzz Osbourne of the Melvins on guitar and Dave Lombardo who's the X-drummer for Slayer will be taking over on drums. They are playing their first show at Slim's in San Franciso on June 18th. They have quite an interesting line-up and I expect them to be a very unique and intense band. For everything on Faith No More and Fantomas, check out http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Arena/8930/MPActivities.html
Korn lawsuit controversy!! Eric Van Hoven is a student at Zeeland High School in Michigan and he got suspended for wearing a Korn T-shirt!! Gretchen Plewes is the assistant principal of the high school that is behind this anti-Korn mastermind. Korn is suing her, Michigan public school district and Zeeland High School in a multi-million dollar lawsuit! This Gretchen Plewes was quoted in a newspaper for saying that Korn's body of work is intentionally insulting, indecent, offensive and unjust. What a bitch!!! If Korn wins the lawsuit they will give the money to charities for the prevention of child abuse (What a bunch of caring guys). The singer of Korn, Jonathan Davis, said "Our band sends out positive messages to our fans-we stand for something. we've inherited a world with horrible things like child abuse, and we want to let people know that they're not alone in dealing with stuff that's been passed on to them." Right on!!(Information from June 1998 Guitar Magazine)
Megadeth and Metallica? What a combo!! You can find an interview in the June issue of Maximum Guitar with singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. We all know that Dave played in Metallica during part of the Kill 'em All years (Metallica's first album in 1981). Dave was kicked out of Metallica for boozing it up too much so everyone assumed that Dave Mustaine must hate Metallica and he formed Megadeth to prove the members of Metallica that he could do it too, that he could show up most metal guitarists and still kickass on stage. Well, that's not the case. Dave's a bright guy and I think he is a little too wise to hold a grudge for nearly 20 years. In Maximum guitar, Dave was asked if he would want to play with Metallica again. Dave's reponse surprised most people when he said "I think it would be really fabulous if me and David Ellefeson (bassist of Megadeth) went over with Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield and put a record out." Dave goes further to say that he still keeps in touch with Lars and "James Hetfield is one of the greatest rhythm guitar players and singers to grace the planet. If he and I got together again, people would be so blown away they'd probably have to kill themselves." Wow, wouldn't that be interesting! Who knows if it will actually happen but at least we know there is no hard feelings between Megadeth and Metallica.
If you have any questions or comments e-mail me and pick up the latest guitar mags to find out more about these articles.
