The Posh Band are the driving melodeon of Simon Ritchie and the dynamic fiddle of Ed Caines over the powerful rhythmic combination of Sue Bainbridge and Ken Lee's piano and banjo. The Posh Band play at ceilidhs, dances, festivals, folk clubs and pub sessions. Dance to them at Walthamstowe on May 15th or catch them at Sidmouth or Wadebridge festival this summer. | ||||||||||||||||
SIMON RITCHIE - MELODEON One time member of the Old Hat Concert Party Simon has played, sung and stepped with many traditional musicians and is three times winner of the coveted Dartmoor step dance trophy. You can hear him dancing on the Katie's Quartet CD and hear him playing and singing on his own Melodeon Mania. ED CAINES - FIDDLE Ed is one of the most distinctive English fiddlers and played with Ticker's Jam, the Tickler's Band and lately Saturday Night Dance Band. SUE BAINBRIDGE - PIANO Sue's bass end piano underlined the rhythm in The Marsden Rattlers, The Dan Quinn Trio and The Dan Quinntet. Sue was the resident singer and pianist at the original Islington Folk Club where she accompanied a number of traditional players. KEN LEES - BANJO Ken's incisive back-beat banjo was first heard in Webb's Wonders and joined Sue in the Dan Quinn Trio and the Dan Quinntet. Ken's family were on the boards and he plays his uncle's banjo bought in the 20's from an American band musician who needed the fare home.
