This week, Hollywood & Vine presents THE WALL.  Hear it at Capitol Broadcasts.
For over 30 years, Pink Floyd has been one of rock music's most dominant creative and commercial forces.  Formed in London, England in 1965, the band released The Wall in 1979. It contained the anti-educational system diatribe, "Another Brick In The Wall", which not only restored the group to the British singles' chart, but provided them with their sole number 1 hit. Capitol Records has reissued four classic Pink Floyd albums - The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and A Collection of Great Dance Songs - remastered under the supervision of the band.

Capitol Records to Release Four Pink Floyd Titles for the First Time

    WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 21, 2000--

"The Wall," "Wish You Were Here," "A Collection of Great Dance Songs"

and "Animals" Digitally Remastered and Repackaged

For the first time, Capitol Records is releasing Pink Floyd's "The Wall,"
"Wish You Were Here," "A Collection of Great Dance Songs" and "Animals"
in the United States.

All four albums are digitally remastered versions done with the band's
approval in 1998 and will be released in a limited edition, embossed slip
case. The April 25 release brings all of the top-selling titles in the Pink
Floyd catalog into Capitol Records.

The releases coincide with the 25th anniversary of "Wish You Were Here"
and with the latest surge of interest in Pink Floyd, which includes a live
album, cable TV and syndicated radio concert specials and an extensive
nationwide tour this summer by founding member Roger Waters.

"The Wall" and "A Collection of Great Dance Songs" consistently rank
alongside Pink Floyd's seminal "Dark Side of the Moon" among the top 30
catalog sellers. Released in 1979, the concept album, "The Wall," is the
R.I.A.A.'s highest certified double album of all time.

With 23 million in U.S. sales, it ranks third after The Eagles' "Greatest
Hits" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" as the best-selling album of all time.
"The Wall" contained the No. 1 hit "Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)," Pink
Floyd's only gold single, and went on to become a hit film directed by Alan
Parker.

"A Collection of Great Dance Songs," a platinum seller, contains extended
versions of the Pink Floyd classics, "One of These Days," "Money," "Sheep,"
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond," "Wish You Were Here" and "Another Brick In The
Wall (Part 2)."

Released in 1975, "Wish You Were Here" was the follow-up to "Dark Side of
the Moon." A concept album that paid tribute to founding member Syd Barrett,
it contains "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," "Welcome to the Machine," "Have a
Cigar," and the title track. It too topped the charts with domestic sales of
more than 6 million units.

"Animals," a bitter indictment of modern society, was released 2 years
later and continued Pink Floyd's hot streak, with domestic sales more than 4
million units to date. On tour, the band performed under huge, inflated pigs
that hovered over the stadiums.

"The Wall," "Wish You Were Here," "Animals" and "A Collection of Great
Dance Songs" now join the other Pink Floyd releases in the Capitol catalog:
"Atom Heart Mother," "Dark Side of the Moon," "Meddle," "More," "Obscured by
Clouds," "Piper at the Gates of Dawn," "Relics," "A Saucerful of Secrets,"
"Ummagumma" and "Works."
