Tactics
Tactics are things that change with the time. From the Greek phalanx to the modern tank battles, tactics have conformed and been changed to suit the period. CFS is no different. The tactics presented here are of the most recent findings, compiled at great length by PGearcat and his flying experiences.
Remember - you are best at your own tactics in which you personally make certain flight moves in dogfighting combat. These lessons are not to tell you how to dogfight. Rather, these tactics will tell you how to win the dogfight.

Welcome to the PGHQ Squadron's Aerial Tactics Reserve
These Tactics are Classified! Do not give the tactics listed below to any other squadrons or pilots! This is PGHQ ONLY!
If you have made it to this website, you are here for one of two things: 1: Taking a PGHQ Training Course, or 2: Interested in learning CFS-style fighter tactics.
Well I'll start right at the start. First of all - the tactics in your CFS book are great for stylish education and for the blackboards, and even for actual World War Two combat. But in CFS those tactics are worth precisely this: ....... yep, nothing!
First of all, these tactics are written assuming you are flying a Hawker Mk I stock Hurricane. The reason for using the Hurricane is simple - it's the most manoeuvrable plane available in CFS. I have heard wild stories of flying Sopwith Camels or using P-47s ... and they simply don't work. A little sidenote though, I did go into a game where one team flew P-47s and they almost won because those Jug's absorbed Hawker ammo like lead-sucking sponges. But I stress almost won.
Well lets not beat about the bush. I have many pages of thick combat tactics which I desire to cover effectively and I hope you are in a mood to absorb all of them.
If you are a PGHQ pilot, if you complete these lessons and satisfactorily complete a small Review, you will be presented with the PGHQ Combat Ready Certificate, indication you have been instructed in modern CFS flight tactics.
BELOW: NEVER MIND THE BELOW IMAGES! THAY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH PGHQ TACTICS!
