HowdyFolks!
Welcome
to Cole's Place. I live in Lubbock,
TX where my father and I own a Saddle and Tack shop. I attended college
at Texas
Tech University and am a huge Red
Raider supporter. I'm an former member of the Virtual
Naval Command where I commanded the
USS Dallas(SSN700). I hope to return to return to the VNC soon.
I
love sports. All of them, mostly, but my passion is NASCAR.
It all started as a joke between myself and a few of my buddies. That all
ended when we went to our first race at Texas
Motor Speedway last March. They gave me a hard time about Jeff Gordon
crashing in both races, but I'll never miss another race there. (Danny....Ralph,
you better be working on securing us an R.V. ...............hehehe). "You
might be a redneck if.......you think the last three words of the National
Anthem are, "Gentlmen......start you engines!" ."
About
my business: Dad retired from a NASDAQ listed company in 1993 after 27
years of service. He started the business (something he's wanted to do
all of his life) out of the back of a trailer with 3 saddles and a small
amount of other equine products. The business began to grow. Life on the
road was rough, so dad decided to get his own place in 1996. A year later,
my father asked me to come onboard part time. Part time soon turned into
full time, which brings us to 1999. We now carry over 100 saddles from
just about every saddle maker in the country, including our own brand of
custom made saddles. We also carry a full line of just about every other
type of equine product. And, as we like to say, "If we ain't got it, we'll
sure try to get it for ya.". If any of you have any equine needs, E
- Mail me for more information. I can assure that we can beat just
about any price in the country. I hope to have some pictures of our saddles
online soon, so stay tuned.
Alot
of people ask me online, "Are you a cowboy?". The answer is no. I wear
boots and a hat, drive a truck, and we even own a couple of horses. However,
I am not a true cowboy. A cowboy is a guy ( or gal), who rides fences 12
hours a day. His best and only friend is often his horse. He get's
up at 5:00am, and does not get back home till after dark. He doctors a
sick cow in the mud and the rain. He checks on a cow that's having trouble
giving birth at 3 in the morning. He get's to go to town, if he's lucky,
maybe twice a month. He is paid very little and he works harder than most.
He lives for the brand. Sadly, this type of man is slowly dieing out in
America.
I
do, however, try to live up to the image. I believe in God, Family, and
my country. I try not to complain too much ( believe me folks, there's
a bunch of people in this world that got it alot worse off than you and
me). I respect my elders, and I address people I don't know as Sir and
Ma'am. I tip my hat to the ladies, and I give a firm handshake to the men.
I believe that racism and inequality is a bunch of bull - hockey. A far
as I'm concerned, you're a man, until you do something to prove yourself
otherwise. My parents instilled these qualities in me (yep, I got my fair
share of beatin's) and for that, I am truly greatful. I love you mom and
dad.
Anyway, now you know just about the whole poop on me. I hope you enjoy
the rest of my site.
