| NEWS 4-4-2000 post by Talon There has been a change in leadership in the 74th. I have resigned my position as supreme commander to Commander Xhair. This came after I realized that the Merlins were going no ware fast under me.~~ I am sorry for the lack of updates and there has been some changes in the Roster. Welcome to our new pilots Quiet and Azrael.

3-25-2000 post by Talon Congrats Merlins on an excellent turnout this weekend. ~~ Between the two meetings I believe we had a 7/8 turnout. I hope once we fill Beta and Delta wings to close off the Merlins to new people and have smaller wing practices that don't require a time when everyone can be there all at once. ~~Congrats on the Pro Mo DeltaHawk

My host, www.fortunecity.com,who provides my free web page and those lovely banners you see at the top. =-) ~~ Well the turnout this weekend was 4 total... not bad but we could do better. ~~ On the topic of my previous posts do you think splitting the wings based on time zones would help turnouts at practices? ~~I hope to have a practice this Saturday at 5:15 PM Pacific time. This odd time is to work around two of our members who have to be somewhere on this day. ~~I will not be able to attend a practice on Sunday, I will, on the other hand, ask Xhair if he will try to host.~~ There are minor updates to the roster page and the links page. 3-16-2000 post by Talon I have decided to add a delta wing to accommodate some more fast connections and another dogfighter. I will be doing a little shifting in the wings to balance them and to get a fast connection in each. At squad meetings we will now begin with a wing commanders meeting and go from there into wing meetings. At wing commander meetings I will meet with Alpha 2, Beta 1, and Delta 1. Get them all caught up and have them communicate what needs to be communicated to you. The reason I have chosen to do it this way is so that if there are questions they will more likely be answered and it is really hard to find a time that 12 people can meet. After Delta the Merlins will close their doors so speak now or forever hold your peace.

The speed at which that counter is rising is increasing. ~~ There are practices now scheduled at 5 PM Saturday and 6PM Sunday in Ace_Aerna. ~~ It looks like we've had a vonentear to put together a Tech Center and I am working on a few missions.

See you there. ~~ There are also set squad practice times now at 8 o'clock Pacific on both Sat and Sun. ~~We are looking for one more recruit who can dogfight and has a fast connection to act as our squad server. ~~Hopefully the tech center will have some screen shots of the Merlins in action soon.

I will be adding you to the roster soon. ~~ Still looking for that stupid little book amid this mess of tree networked computers and Linux documentation. If anyone has a scanner could you scan me page 18 (Maby that yould be faster than sorting through all this stuff. ~~ Saw on freespace2.com that the Decent Network Team finished an overhaul of www.freespace-2.com/ . Also freshly updated are Ground FreeSpace and Planet Freespase which has been moved and renamed to FreeSpace Watch. ~~I also noticed that Violation has snatched up the www.freespace-3.com URL.

2-21-2000 post by Talon The Carina has had a refit! There are two squad positions available as well as the position of Alliance Chancellor. (I don't have time to run my squad, be webmaster of this sight and run the alliance as well.) So that position is up for grabs by any squad leaders who bring in their squad. Thanks to the 317th for your interest.... I hope to here from you.
2-20-2000 post by Talon I'm getting ready to remake this page as an alliance of 2-3 squadrons. I will be renaming the sight and coining a all new GTDI Carina Logo. ~~ Cool stuff ahead folks. Look for a big update tomorrow.
2-19-2000 post by Talon I'm still waiting for confirmation that my squad has been confirmed on www.squadwar.com. maybe the delay has something to do with the fact that I registered once with the wrong name and had to go back and make it correct. ~~ I was on PXO today and it wouldn't keep my stats because I had been tampering in my ships.tbl file. I guess I'll have to back up the original and use one for online and one for making my MODs. ~~ There is now a message board up on the "forum" page. Also in page news I fixed the problems with everything not showing up at low resolution... now its all squished. A rankings page is coming soon.
2-17-2000 post by Talon The join page is finally up and fully functioning.~~ I am now registered at 6 search engines and on the Freespace2 webring. ~~ I am starting to see a need for a Message Board.
2-16-2000 post by Talon I got a chat server up and I put a form in the join section. Enjoy. I still don't know why on some computers this sight has checkered graphics and on others the page ups its resolution??? Oops! all the links to the join page are down except for the one on this page.

This is for security reasons only. ~~ I got the Missions, Chat (thought not functioning), Tech Center, and Join Pages up. ~~ I am much closer to registering with the searches. I want to get a mission, screen chat and chat window in first.
