Well, my summer job's over and I have a little over a week 'till school starts again. Other than that....there's absolutely NO NEWS!! C'Mon people! Let's have some news! L8R - The V Man
The Future of this Site |
9:24 PM |
Due to a few occurances which I have recently observed, the future of this site just took a sudden turn. Until I decide what will be happening in the future, I may not be updating for a while. Don't worry, I will finish the Tournament in some form or another and the future of The Antioch Chronicles is secure, no matter what. If the front page suddenly disappears, it's because I'm doing something odd. - Gunslinger (GDI)
Tournament Update |
10:31 PM |
My Tournament has been updated (finally) to begin the next round. I cannot e-mail everyone about it until this weekend, but please try to contact your opponents as soon as possible. - Gunslinger (GDI)
Auspex And Antioch |
10:09 PM |
And no, I'm not going to alliterate this entire story. Auspex of The Antioch Chronicles has done a couple of notable things. First, he released his new weekly map yesterday, now he has placed an editorial on-line regarding changes in the 1.02 patch, Brood War, and more. Keep looking to Antioch in the future for more exciting stuff. (They're quite a powerhouse, aren't they?) - Gunslinger (GDI)
Some Antioch Stuff...
Greetings, everyone. There are going to be lots of exciting things happening at Antioch soon, as Brood War looms closer and several of my projects begin to unravel. I'm beginning the Episode II countdown with a new features section under the Observatory at the Antioch web site, starting off with the first in a series of post-Episode I Consul Reports by Judicator Turmalis. (Don't read if you haven't finished Psionic Storm!) Enjoy! The Official Antioch Web Site: http://antioch.tech-base.com For Aiur. --Auspex Turmalis (-V-, CWAL, HP)
So get ready or you'll be smashed into a pile of purple pulp and get ripped up into 5 billion pieces..umm... went a lil' over my head, huh? Well L8R. - Jehoo
Ack! Such infrequent posts! |
9:01 AM |
I have not been able to post much lately due to the vigors of a Sophomore's life. I will try my hardest to update more, and I am sorry to all those SCer's who haven't seen any new news. ANYWAYZ...
Nothing huge is happening in the SC community...So I think I am gonna go back to sleep. Expect and update from me later tonight, ESPECIALLY if anything big happens...- the_Ravager
For My Next Trick... |
9:18 PM |
I believe I fixed our JavaScript errors. Ahh, the fun we have here behind the scenes. :-) For my next trick, I will be disappearing tomorrow again. I'm heading out of town for the day, but I will return on Sunday to update. If I get lucky, I will be able to drop by school tomorrow and blast an update from the T1 there. I may have a couple more posts tonight, but no guarantees. - Gunslinger (GDI)
This week's map from Blizzard is called Enigma. It's 192x192 and designed for 2-8 players. It can be pulled from the Starcraft Compendium. Ever wonder what goes into making a weekly scum? Read Shlonglor's post at http://www.battle.net/forums/starcraft-lounge/posts/ej/184110.htm. (Source: SC.Org)
And in a surprising turn of events, Aridin posted a single message on SC.Org. He said he has needed time to himself lately and that he would be leaving the Starcraft scene, possibly indefinitely. Post is at SC.Org. - Gunslinger (GDI)
The News Went Everywhere |
9:51 PM |
That's right, the news went everywhere. It was quite a mess. It means that I can only give you a brief idea of what happened in one big sentence.
Patch 1.02 was released, Area-S closed indefinitely, there's a Warcraft 2 RPG, StarDraft was released, Blizzard responded to the Lord of the Clans petition, Operation Nude Polka continued without my strike, I bought Might and Magic VI, oops, that shouldn't have been in there, I have a lot of other stuff to catch up on, and my webmasters disappeared.
There, that's most of it in the most nonsensical way I can think. I now have to spend the next many days getting back into the swing of things. First priority, starting the next Round of my tournament. There was an intentional delay in an effort to get everyone caught up. Only one person took advantage of it. I guess I have to drop more people now. Next priority is to stabilize this thing to go semi-automatic for a while. I have a side project I need to complete really soon. Thirdly, find out where the blasted webmasters went and who fragged the datafile, and finally, find out who put the bop in the bop-shoo-bop. This is Gunslinger, signing on..err...off. - Gunslinger (GDI)
TechBase Back from Hell |
8:48 PM |
Well, it appears that in my absence, TechBase went to hell from a minor HTML error on another webmaster's part. Most of you didn't notice it, since nearly 60% of our visitors use Internet Explorer. The story was quite different for Netscape users. A closing /table was accidentally edited out of the file which caused Netscape (quite strict about its tables) to ignore our entire table. Not fun. I think I've fixed it. (Well, if you're using Netscape and reading this, it's fixed)
OK, I guess I'm back for now. I've probably got several hundred e-mails awaiting my immediate reply, so I'll post some news after I read them. - Gunslinger (GDI)
Dininit Dininit (Drum Roll) Welcome to Tech-base Morning News |
9:28 AM |
Hi, and welcome to today's issure of Early MORNING News at the Tech-Base! And here is our first issue:
Secret StarCraft Terrorist has known as Quickshot14 has threatened the world by opening the StarCraft Dish!! (Video scene opens, people in Tokyo run around because of this big, big terror). This is the message we received from him:
Alrighty good news the domain for our host is working again you can now access starcraft dish from: http://speed-web.net/scdish also it is open for bussniess *not fully op but open*:)-James "Quickshot14" Greenwood
Well citizens of the sad world, if you visit the StarCraft Dish you will not be killed.
One of the SC Community's righteous leaders known as SCLegacy has now put the 1.02 patch in their files archive. So grab it and go home happy 8).
The secret underground agency known as PGL has now received the official maps. If you would like to get them, go to Blizzard. (Scratch, Scratch, wonders if they are worth it...)
Another terrorist group (where the he** is the world going???) known as Ghosts has now taken over a 192x128 area and send the following e-mail to President Whatshisname:
Chau Sara has been a flash point for unparalleled hostilities during the Wars. Seeding the atmosphere with toxic spores, the Zerg enslaved the Terran population that founded the colony and changed the surface of the world to better support their Hive clusters. Then, out of the cold endlessness of space, a great Protoss fleet arrived and, seeking to prevent further infestation, incinerated the planet. Since that time, Chau Sara has been a lifeless world hanging in the void.
But as stupid as most terrorist groups may appear, they are usually a lot, lot dumber. So they actually send a file attachement with a secret file! Well go "snatch it" over here.
The renegade soldier known as DeathViper has done extensive research on what Antioch means. And here is what he got:
The well used name Antioch can be found in many other places as I have discovered. Antioch turns out to be an ancient Greek city located in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) had strong Greek influences during the Hellenistic period. As you may know, the Protoss take on many latin references and the names Archon, Templar, Conclave, etc all relate to ancient times of earth history. Even Tassadar has similarities to the past civilizations bearing resemblance to the times and perils of the philosopher Socrates. Antioch was also a city near Israel as mentioned in the bible.
Hmm... Israel, I wonder if that is where DeathViper had his 500 or so snake babies...
That's is it with today's issue of Early MORNING News. (BTW, all this terrorist crap, renegade soldier and stuff is fiction. With people from Tokyo running around, no racism is meant (ok, I watch too much godzilla, but geez Tokyo people running around screaming is the trademark thing when something bad happens!). And I have no clue if DeathViper actually did have 500 snake babies...) By Jehoo
