AMERICANA English-Russian Encyclopedic Dictionary, the first bilingual dictionary of its kind, offers a wealth of information about the United States.

Over 20,000 encyclopedic entries examine facts of U.S. history, government, economics, politics, social life, literature and the arts, as well as everyday life in America. The dictionary features clear and useful definitions and cross-references, phonetic transcriptions, and helpful charts and tables.

AMERICANA is not only aimed at avid readers of American fiction, scholarly publications, newspapers and magazines, but is also invaluable for translators and interpreters, and all who take an interest in matters and things American.

A team of veteran scholars and young researchers, headed by professor Ghelly V. Chernov, Doctor of Philology, has worked on this volume for over five years.

Polygramma will publish Americana CD-ROM next year, and we plan to update the Dictionary on a regular basis.
