Hi! Welcome to Room 13, the home of creative culture, unique perspectives, and useless information. For those of eclectic taste, our topics will change frequently. We will talk about, at different times, movies, music, art, and new ways of looking at things.

Zenos Paradox , and why you will never finish reading this page | |||||||||||||||||
Suppose you are traveling from point A to point B. To reach B, you must first travel half the distance. Once you have arrived at the mid-point, you must then travel half the remaining distance. But once you have arrived at the mid-point of the remaining distance, you still have to travel half the remaining distance. | In fact, this goes on forever. Since it takes some time, no matter how small,to travel half of any given distance, and since the remaining distance can always be divided , it will therefore take you an infinite amount of time to travel from A to B. In short, it is impossible to ever reach B. Be warned though, not everybody will accept this. I was once fired from a job for using Zenos Paradox as my reason for not showing up.
