Danbury Common

Appreciating Wildlife and Art

I live in a wooded area on a hill in Essex which provides a wonderful natural habitat for wildlife. Badgers, foxes, muntjac deer, grey
squirrels, stoats, weasels, rabbits, adders, slow-worms, many
varieties of butterflies and moths and of course an abundance of birds including beautiful green woodpeckers, spotted woodpeckers, grey herons and mallard to name but a few.

Presently I am creating a clay pond in my garden which is approximately 30 metres in diameter. So far a hole 2-3 metres deep has been dug. Shortly I have to decide whether to pummel clay into the base or to use the safer option of a durable butyl liner.  I would be pleased to receive comments and advice on this matter.

I regularly draw/paint life outdoors using pastels or watercolours. I also use both still and  video cameras.

During the BBC promenade 1998 season my wife and I are attending many of the
concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.

We will be visiting Paris shortly when we will be visiting monuments, museums, art galleries and also walking in the parks and studying wildlife.
