The 2001 North American James Joyce Conference "Extreme Joyce/Reading on the Edge" will take place at Berkeley, California, July 1-6! Click here for more information. _______________ Feel
free to start a new discussion on the works by James
Joyce! The Joyce Luck Club is an internet/e-mail discussion forum that has been created for purposes of reading, learning about and discussing the works of Irish Modernist author, James Joyce. It came into existence on 15 March 1999. We started with Dubliners, went on to read The Portrait, and are currently reading Ulysses. As the listserv does not have the archiving facilities, this website is functioning as the archive. Discussions are collected chronologically under the title of the respective work. To participate in the discussions, you should become a member of the listserv. Participation is open to all who want to read Joyce - those who are starting to read Joyce are particularly welcome. The website has also been used to accompany teaching Joyce as the questions asked here are typical of those that arise when one reads Joyce for the first time. After the group finished reading Ulysses, it has gone become quiet. But you are welcome to start a new discussion at any time! Some of us will love to join you in rethinking about the great works. Welcome to the Joyce Luck Club! Chandra
