Lazine remembers the clothes her mother made for the girls -- "We were all
told we were the best dressed."

One of Evelyn's favorite memories is sitting around a big table in front
of the fireplace doing homework, reading, and having whatever snacks were
    available.

    * Mary Margaret remembers all the doll clothes Grandmother made, her
apricot fried pies, the wine she drank at night (for medicinal purposes
only, from a juice glass, bottle hidden in the back of her closet), and
    that Bob was her favorite!

    * Linda remembers her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.

    * Terry remembers her Christmas fruit cake (anyone got the recipe?),
pre-testing Thanksgiving pecan pie, and sitting on her front stoop at
sundown while she took her glass of medicine (wine).

    * Turtle murder!!!! Mary Margaret remembers going to a pond somewhere to
check the trot line -- there was a huge turtle on the line, so
Grandmother trapped it under a washtub, got a hammer (from where?), and
    beat the turtle to death!

    * James shot a possum on the back fence and Grandmother cooked it the next
day! (MM, Bob, Jim, and Joe all remember this.)

    * she made Jim and Joe share bath water
    AND

    * Bob was her favorite!
